Good luck buster. How long have you been doing WSR? Are the accounts you have fleet or car lots or other? Interested to know where you are located, your rates (only because of the economic downslide for everyone) and what kind of equipment you are using? Also are you in a tent, shop or mobile? Does your day job offer you health insurance? If it does be careful because unless you are making enough money to pay for it then it may be better to do it part-time.

I operate a windshield and paint repair business. My main business comes from RV and Vertical Repair Fleets (Busses, Trucks etc.). 18 wheeler dealer ships call and my team is dispatched. There is untold and untapped markets in every area. We just have to go get the business, and after a while the business starts coming to you. When it does, don't make the mistake of relaxing. It is time to expand. If you are not going out, killing something and bringing it back to the cave, eventually you will starve. Not :p Good Luck, but Good Work! images/smiles/icon_razz.gif

The way the ecomomy is today everyone wants to wait for their windshield to crack. You have to educate them with your marketing. A $35 chip repair today could be a $200 replacement tomorrow.

autoneeds1. Nice bright website you have there, but is that deliberate on the name Diamond Fusion?

rdesnoyers. I used to do the figures you talk about in less than 1/2 that time and nowadys do very well on about 20 hours per week if doing just repairs. As for losing your place to live that is very sad, having been there myself when I was young it is no fun at all.

ChipStop, Inc. Love that last line, I hope you do not mind if I use it in my training classes.

looks like Diamond Fusion or Crystal Fusion would make a good add on business.
Wonder how high this stuff is?
To me headlight restore, windshield repair and fusion is all about safety and better vision.
The more you add to the business better the profits.

There are two of us so 80 hours combined, but it takes a serious commitment to build a company. We are getting ready to hire soon. So I guess we view this some what different. I would like to grow a national company someday. What you guys are doing is real cool too. So to each there own. I was just trying to stress the difficulty in what we all go through in the beginning.

rdesnoyers, My remarks were not meant as a snubb and I fully understand how much work can be involved, however I do feel life is for living and not just working. What I was pointing out is there can be a point where we can get a good standard of living out of this trade for not too many hours work.
