Well Brent we will soon have over 100,000 miles on our current Gold Wing. Getting ready to do a mountain trip leaving end of the month and returning late in the first of November. Will be in Arkansas,Oklahoma, and Missouri this time.Have a Colorado mountain trip in planning stages to due in May of next year(looking at about a 17-20 day trip. Got all our Gerbing heated gear already in our little tow behind trailer. Rode 200 miles last Sunday and had lunch and rode back. We are looking hard at the new YELLOW wings and definitely getting an 1800 this time around. We got 40 MPG Sunday with some aggressive riding thrown in. My friend just had several 800 mile days on his new wing going up north.May have to buy a new YELLOW trailer as well to match new ride. Usually is only cost a little more to get new trailer versus painting an old one.

Re: Motorcycles
Eddie,
I am so jealous! I try to get a meager 5000 miles in the saddle each year, but this year I didn't even get that. I did ride back from Redding CA over to Eureka and up the coast as far as Florence before cutting over to Eugene last month, but that was my longest trip of the year and it ended all all too quickly. I don't know how many miles it was, but about a 10-12 hour ride depending on how hard you push.
I did think of you again as the temperatures dipped below 50 and the rain started to fall. That is about the limit of my comfort level with my current setup, but with all your gear snow and ice are probably about the only things that slow you down. The older I get the better the creature comforts sound, but I just don't know that I could ever give up my Harley. I also find it hard to get my leg over the seat when I get too much gear on. Maybe it's time I drop a few pounds!
Safe travels my friend. Keep me posted so I can live vicariously through you!

Re: Motorcycles
Brent,
I think of you a lot when we are out riding. I see Harley getting water-cooling and balanced engines in the Ultra Classic very soon due to the EPA. Dude, I am out riding and you are sitting there thinking about it while counting all your money and throwing Wade a buck or two to get him to go away. Seriously, we just want to enjoy riding while we still can before we get any OLDER. Get you some GOOD rain gear-Tourmaster is what we have and some good heated clothing-we use Gerbing. We have been out in 17 degree weather with ice on the roads and you have to stay in the auto tire tracks for this. Just slow down and go on. For the type riding we do-Long distance touring the wing fits us better and we have been looking at gold wing trikes as the spouse would like to drive some also.
