If moisture is being stubborn to come out , would you try drilling some of the surface , so the moisture as a bigger escape route.

I have found that if moisture will go in, the vapor will also go out, so I have not found it necessary to drill in order to dry out a break, but there are many different tools and techniques used to dry out a break, so I can only speak to the method Delta Kits recommends.
