Roo,
Did'nt you recieve that email I sent you? It spelled it out in the simplest way possible. If you still have questions, feel free to call me as it would be much easier over the phone to answer your questions. You also could find a wealth of material here with a little searchinging.
In a nut shell you can...
Get Paid Cash- Do they job, get paid and let the customer decide what they want to do for reimbursment. I posted before on the CLUE REPORT which should help you sell cash jobs and your customer decide what will be best for them.
Direct Bill- You submitt the invoice directly to the customers local agent or insurance company main office. Objective is to bypass the networks and EDI service. You will use the address on the insurance card. I used to do this and you will have trust me when I say you will pull your hair out.
Network Invoicing Without An EDI Service- You call the claims number on the insurance card, usually it will be the network acting on behalf of the insurance company. If you manually fax the invoice to the network expect to be charged a fee. You can do this if you are an approved service provider or not. If your not you will never recieve referrals.
Network Invoicing With An EDI Service- Same as above except you pay for the EDI service. There will be no manual submission fee, and depending on which EDI provider yopu choose you may be able to call them direct and they handle everything which or may not fit your convienience needs(it may be at a large percentage of your take per job though). You have a few options out there for EDI services with varying fees and options.
Last but not least a Network is not an Insurance Company and neither are and EDI service provider.
