vertical glass injector adapters

Post by waz »

I was looking for some part or tool last month when I came across an interesting accesory that I hadn't seen before. It was a injector adapter for repairing chips on vertical w/s such as big rigs or busses,it looked like it fit the novus style and possibly many other injectors as a large pit adapter would.I have know idea if or how they perform but thought it may be worth checking out.Now for the life of me I can't find which manufacturer made or carried it,so much for trusting ones memory over bookmarking, just wondering if anyone else had come across this product and could steer me to their site? Merry Christmas

The Large Pit Adapter is a very handy aid indeed. It has been around for many years now. They fit most injectors and are pretty cheap. You need to add a few extra drops of resin per repair when using the adapter. If you want, you do not have to use the adapter -but that is all up to you.

I'm not looking for a large pit adapter Frank.I'm looking for a vertical injector adapter that connects to the injector much like a large pit adapter.

Basically the same thing, it is just a matter of an angle. As far as I know, only available at GW -they used to do them. If they stopped doing the adapter, just buy a large pit adapter and have the angle done yourself at a place of your own choice.

The liquid resins Resinator works on verticle glass not that expensive keep one in the box for when you run into the problem I use em for all my repairs and have shelved the others as a side note I use 1/3 the resin I used to since there is no waste

What I saw wasn't for fixing a chip with large surface damage such as the G-W adapter is for,it used the same injector boot or seal as you may call it as your standard injactor.I don't think it was through one of the more established W/S repair suppliers but I'm also not sure of that.I was just wondering if anyone else had seen the same thing.

Most who use the tripod type injector use a syringe to put the resin into the injector less runs out that way some mfgs will sell resin in a one shot aplicator

I have used a vertical pit adaptor many times as we used to get them from Novus, however since switching over to Delta tools I find I do not need to use the messy unreliable piece of tosh. If you think about the way they work you will understand they are not easy to get a good seal on, just the slightest of resin pressure tends to blow out the side. I also find that I do not have the need for large pit adaptors, as I use other methods I prefer I have owned many just did not find I needed them.
