Hi guys, Deacon here. I'm brand new to this, but I think, with God's help, I can make a pretty good business. I've done about 12 set already, mostly for used auto dealers. I'm finding that most of them don't want to spend anything on their cars, even when I explain how they can pass that cost on to the customer. Doesn't make sense. The restorations I've done already have turned out great, even with the learning curve. I've read all the threads on this forum and have really picked up a lot of helpful information.This is what I've been looking for for a long time. Thank you guys for your willingness to help the newbie.
Hey GlassStarz, I've been pretty much using your system. I don't see any point in making this more difficult than it has to be, but I'm not down to 10 minutes per set yet. Maybe eventually. Got a question, If you are still using the spar urethane and mineral spirits mix, is your urethane a deep brown color? Even when I mix mine with about 40% spirits, it's still the color of strong tea. Is this normal and will it effect the clarity of your top coat. I haven't noticed a tinted effect, but I'm not sure.Thanks for all your help and I'm looking forward to your reply.

It stays brownish I have switched brands I am using Behr outdoor from Home depot and mix 50/50 put it on thich from a squeeze bottle and a scott towel works really well dries clear

I find the WD 40 works well I start with 400 grit and folow with 1000 I have started doing most by hand rather than using the drill it only takes a few wipes with the 400 (I think the wd speeds it up by softening the outer layer?) I find putting a thick coat eliminates any scratches and rough spots

GlassStarz, I tried to find the Behr at my local Home Depot with no luck. Would you mind giving the exact name thats on the can so that I can try to find it online or some other store? I didn't have any luck trying to find it on Behr's website either.Thanks
