I recommend getting a used windshield for practice before working on installed glass. I'm sure your manufacturer will walk you through one or two if you ask, as they mentioned, and it might be better if it's practiced more before working on even a friend's vehicle...

I advise training and practise, I try and encourage my students to do a lot of repairs before they go live, I recommend 100 practise repairs although I know this target is never reached nor required in most circumstances. Turning up to a new customer and carrying out a poor quality repair will do so much damage to a persons confidence as to make it hard for them to go and ask for another job. Delta Kits should be Delta training and as quick as possible.
