Dry out
After even more tests using a cooling block when drying out we have found that is cuts cooling time down substantialy. We tested a bullseye heated for 20 seconds with the drystar and it took 6 minutes to cool when left alone, with the cooling block 1 minute 20 seconds. I know I have posted on this subject before but after 6 months of trialing it we are now including it in out training.

This cooling block you reference is a small block of aluminum? I remember you mentioned some time back but I couldn't find the post or thread it was in.

I am using a small aluminum block, but you could use anything at all that will absorb the heat. I am certainly not a scientist so I will let some one extremely clever, bright, intelligent and smart maybe someone like Brent take over with the physics of it. All I know it works for me.

I have some 1/4" (6.35mm) thick aluminum in the shop. I think I'll cut a bit and give it a go.

My piece is about 2 inch cube. I have used panel beating dollies etc. and they seems to speed up the cooling process.
