OPEN LETTER TO NWRA PRESIDENT
Re: OPEN LETTER TO NWRA PRESIDENT
Gary
I have committed to Brent not to discuss subjects other then direct concerns for the NWRA. That being said I would suggest you read the story below. It is very relevant to your issue with me. Saying that, I would like you to consider the issues of spawling, refraction , moisture intrusion, laminate adhesion, Solutia, the SAE and the GTS threat. I will tell you no one is dealing with these issues outside of our efforts. Regardless of if you fully understand the implications of the issues I mentioned, I would invite you to call me anytime to help you understand our position. I am heavily involved in the science of these issues for the good of the industry no matter who's feathers I ruffle. It appears that Brent has allowed me here for a reason.
Finally, are you upset at Ford for singling out GM or Toyota? Subway and Quizno's Burger King and McD?
Call me anytime.
Respectfully
Mike Boyle
The family was gathered for an anniversary dinner. The youngest newly married daughter was preparing her first family dinner. As she was about to put the large ham in the oven to begin baking, her mother stopped her and said "You have to cut three inches off the ham before you bake it."
Puzzled, the daughter asked her mother why?
"Because that's the way my mother taught me to do it," said the mother.
Still puzzled, the daughter went to find her grandmother.
"Nana," she asked, "Mom says you have to cut 3 inches off of the ham before putting it in the oven to bake. Why?"
"Well, that's how my mother taught me to do it, and it's the way I've always done it," replied the grandmother.
Well, the daughter's husband had heard all of this and he wanted to get to the bottom of the mystery. He went into the living room where the family was gathered around great grandmother.
"Nona," he asked, "Grandma says you taught her to cut 3 inches off of the ham before putting it in the oven. I'm puzzled. Why is that necessary?"
"Well, dear, when I was a new bride, just starting out, I baked my first ham for Sunday dinner. The ham was 18 inches long. The largest roasting pan I had was 15 inches long, so I had to cut three inches off of the ham to make it fit the pan."
And so it goes, from generation to generation, until someone asks "Why?"

Re: OPEN LETTER TO NWRA PRESIDENT
Well we tried, but it's obvious that allowing Mr. Boyle to post on a Delta Kits moderated forum was a poor idea. After Mr. Boyle's last post I must agree with Blind Squirrel that his responses to NWRA questions are better off answered on the NWRA website or perhaps on the GlasWeld website.
I have stayed out of this to this point, but I cannot keep silent and allow posts like that to be made on this forum. I think that comparison is absurd to say the least!
Sorry guys, but I'm pulling the plug. I will not allow Mr. Boyle post on the windshield repair forum from this point forward.

Well Gary,
You got what you wanted. Mr. Boyle is gone and because of your personal issue with him, we now have to go elsewhere for NWRA information. I would think that to have the President of an organization that represents your professional interest (whether you belong to the NWRA or not), involved on this widely used board would be a tremendous asset to all of us. It was to those of us who are able to put our personal feelings about Mr. Boyle aside...
Thanks for nothing!
And Mr. Boyle, you were foolish to fall into Gary's little trap. Brent asked you to keep your comments on topic to the NWRA and you couldn't bite your tongue... You know there is no way you'd allow derogatory comments about your company to be made on your companies forum so, why would you say ANYTHING about a non-NWRA issue?

Re: OPEN LETTER TO NWRA PRESIDENT
I have my issues with Mike Boyle, but hey, I still think that we should allow Mike Boyle to have his say on this relevant topic right here on this fine board.
The NWRA subject is too important not to be discussed, and this man is the president, like it or not. This discussion will take time, efforts, even frustrations for some people, but again; it is important that we have a debate. It cannot be all that difficult to stick to the topic! Let's give it another try.

Re: OPEN LETTER TO NWRA PRESIDENT
Gary, are you already on the GW forum? If not, do you really think that they will allow you to? I'd rather see the debate going on right here. We have started it, now let's continue and finish it. This is the best place to go when you want to openly discuss, no need to be approved in any kind (what a bull that is), no censor, not even when critical about the hosts' (forum owners') own products. Now that is what I would call a pretty good board to discuss the matters.

Re: OPEN LETTER TO NWRA PRESIDENT
As with any open forum there is always a risk. Or danger if you want to call it that way. No matter how you look at it, there simply will always be people striving for their own agenda, you either kick them every now and than back in their corner or cage, or, just ignore their stupidity. And, yes, I know very well that you do not have any say in the decisions Brent has to make, he indeed is able to perfectly do without our influence. I think we're on the same page here Gary.

Re: OPEN LETTER TO NWRA PRESIDENT
I take full responsibility for the decision to allow Mr. Boyle to post on the forum, and also the decision to retract that offer. I probably allowed too much freedom to forum members to post their concerns, which turned out to be too much of a temptation for Mr. Boyle. It's unfortunate, but I feel my only too choices were to debate him openly on this forum, or to ban him. I chose the latter as I believe the former would not have benefited anyone. We believe Delta Kits products stand on their own merit, and find no need to bash the competition, here on the windshield repair forum, or anywhere else.
I don't see this as the fault of Mr. Boyle or Mr. Bell. It's just something that we tried, but did not work out.

Re: OPEN LETTER TO NWRA PRESIDENT
I really regret this step, but I respect your decision and believe that we all recognize that it is a very important but sensitive subject. Thank you for giving this a fair shot.
