Nichia UV LED

Hi guy's, i have been repairing windshields for 2 years now (using some deltakits hardware), and since yesterday started my own business. I am looking to replace my heavy/expensive uv light and battery with a compact flashlight. I know that the normal uv-flashlights will not cure due to the inproper wavelenght.
I have found a high power UV led that has the prope wavelenght, 365NM. It is the Nichia NCSU033A p7. It has an optical output of 310mw, wich is about 40 times higher than the cheaper UV LED's. Would this be powerfull enough to cure the resins? I only want to use it to repair small damages, for long cracks i can still use my DK uv light. The biggest con of this LED would be the price, i think it costs about 100$!! Even so, if it works i think it would be worth the money.

Anyone who has ever tried this led before? or has a similar uv solution that works?

hello frank, i am not a "grappenmaker". I started my business yesterday, as a franchise for the company i used to work for on the payroll. Now that i am responsible for my own equipment i want to finally customize my tools too my own liking. I already read along a bit on this forum, but up till now did not have the need to place a post. My intentions are most certenly commercial,i do not have these uv lights for sale or anything, just want to make sure it hasnt been tryed before and failed. That way it would save me a lot of time and effort.
I will change my member profile tomorrow, because then i will have registred my company with chamber of commerce ( kamer van koophandel in het nederlands )
Do you also work in the Netherlands frank?

But, back on topic, does anyone here ever tryed this LED, and does it work?

Vincent, okay, thanks for your reply. I realized after my post that I perhaps was a bit quick, but once posted, it sits there eh?
To answer your question re the LED lights, that topic has recently been discussed here. Do a search for more information.
May I ask you a question? What was that company you worked for in the business for some two years? Carglass? Autotaalglas? Riss? Are you repairs only or do you also offer replacements?

I am repair only, just don't think replacement is worth the hassle. I am thinking about etching VIN numbers and removing scratches. Maybe you could advise me on some good equipment?

Regarding to the LED, all i could find using the search was about the led's heaving the wrong wavelenght etc. This one has the right wavelenght so it should work. Just leaves me with the question how fast it will work...

That sounds cool if it works as LEDs inherently consume very little power as apposed to other methods.Will be watching how this goes.

I have seen several versions at dental supply sites some not very expensive
I like the big ole yellow one in the sky but when I do use a light I like one I can set on the glass and move on to something else and the handheld flashlight wouldn't allow this so I haven't bought one.

I allso hardly use the uv light, but want to have a light that i can just throw in my box with equipment. It should not take more the 20/30 seconds to cure, otherwise i would be doing nothing for too long..

i already sent an email to nichia inquiring for the price, just have to wait on there anwser.
