Crack repair question AGAIN

Maybe I can't tell the difference between air and moisture? Air is Black, and that is what I am seeing.

First question, horizontal or vertical crack. 2nd question do you have a practise screen. Personaly I love cracks, there is just a need for practise with them.

Do you see any resin wicking into the crack from the injector?
Just follow it with your eye dropper.
On vertical or sloped cracks work from lowest point to the highest point.
I use the drystar first to make sure there is no moisture present.
Old crusty cracks cannot be filled.

Personaly I find the drystar an excellent tool, but not on long cracks, for them I much prefer compressed air first and secondly my blow torch along with a cooling block.

Here is where my inexperience is coming in....I probably should look it up before I mention it, but here goes, drystar, not familiar with that. I have come across both the vertical and horizontal cracks. After placing my bridge, about an inch will seal then I cannot see it fill anymore. LIke I said I have used the expander, but I am not seeing a difference. I do have some glass to practice on....but it has got to be something I am NOT doing..very frustrated.

How does the compressed air come into play?

Okay, drystar, got it, moisture evaporator. I will use it the next time, but I am pretty sure there was no moisture in it, fresh cracks.

Most long cracks are open to the surface, therefore they will possibley be full of moisture along thier complete lenght, I can dry a 10 inch crack in 5 minutes using compressed air, you certainly could not do that with heat, if anyone thinks they can they are completely wrong. Also how would you get all that moisture out of the edge seal, it is loaded with water and believe me as quick as you dry the screen with heat that moisture will fill the crack again, for long cracks air is the only way in my opinion.

I first drill and pop and then use the compressed air to blow the moisture out, as always wear protective glasses whilst doing this or in fact any other work on the shield.

Hi Screenman have you ever tried compressed air in a can,if so does it work ,do you have a generator to power a compressor or do you have a invertor on your van.

I will try the compressed air, but what do you use...my gosh,,,,air in a can is very expensive.......great advise. I am not even going to ask you about the cooling block, that will be for another day and another time.
