Repair Whilst It's Raining?

I do understand about the UV. However I was repairing in shade. The wind was blowing hard enough I couldn't leave. My WSR toolbox open. Around where the injestor seal flush' to the glass was where the resin had hardened. I figure this was do to the intense wind. Being I wasn't in line of sunlight.

Even ''in the shade'' UV will be present, use the UV protection you have at hand at all times. Rain or shine, summer and winter, UV is present.

I can certainly recommend the bubble dome to resolve the rain problem, it is a worthwile investment, not only does it keep the repair area dry and allow you to work unhindered but it also has the added advantage of acting to protect against natural uv exposure, giving you more control over the curing process.

One of the many benefits of repairing windscreens is you spend all day outside in the glorious sunshine, the only disadvantage is having to use UV blockers. If you like in the UK everyday is usually much different to this and sunshine is but a distant dream, its cold, and wet! Even during the summer months with last year been a perfect example.

Problem, how do you repair a windscreen outside when rain is running down the glass, into the damage? If you are unable to get the vehicle under cover do you come back another day? If you do thats an additional cost and your planned revenue for that day is lost, in reallity this is often the case, I carry out a lot of commercial fleet work and rarely am I able to repair during heavy rain. I have often thought there must be a solution for this, windsreen repairs have been around for years now, somebody must have a solution, all my surmising was to no avail, I looked and looked and looked and have even tried inventing my own which works ok but not very well. I ended up putting an awning on the side of my van (see my website for details) so that I can at least get a car of small van under cover.

I have had many occasion where the rain has resulted in not been able to carry out repairs, I have lost days and even weeks and ended up with a massive backlog of work.

Any ideas or suggestions gang?

Oregon weather is much the same. I have no experience in ws repairs but would trust Delta's advice on it.
