Need letter to get into dealerships doing windshield repair

Im looking for an example letter to give to a dearlership/bodyshop/carwash/ to get in and do business. Dose anybody have their "standard" letter they use that I could see/read? thanks. yes I can do great repairs, but I feel its like an art, and Im good at art not formal writting lol. thanks again

In my opinion, I would explain the benefits of windshield repair. For instance, a windshield repair will enhance the cosmetic appearance and increase the resell value of the vehicle. Those are just a couple facts that you can put on paper, but I think that best thing to do is to give a hands-on demonstration of the service that you are willing to provide. A letter? With all respect; you should go there in person and, like Korey explained in his post, sell the service, explain the benefits/features. A letter is fine, but only to leave after you have been there and introduced yourself and the service. If I were you, I would not send a letter without going there myself. Remember; this is very much a peoples business. And these people are getting letters everyday, just go there!

I service 16 dealerships and there is not a manager at any of them that would read a letter. Car managers are a different breed...they are "in your face" type people...that's how they became a manager...being the best salesman and closer. You will need to meet these people face to face and you will need to grow some thick skin. Car managers these days are under a lot of pressure from the owners to move cars to the public and the public is not buying. So, some days they can be bears and bite your head off and some days they are your best friend. Example:

A new manager was hired at one of my best dealerships about a month ago. I walked in with my list of repairs I had found on his lot. He was introduced to me by the new car manager, we shook hands and he told me he no longer needed my services. I started to explain to him the benefits of my services and the more I talked the more mad he became. I left and waited two weeks before going back. I walked in that day with my list (much bigger this time) and he approved all of the cars and we are now good friends.

Hi there, the only time I would need a letter is when I would be looking into a fleet account to get some work ie a 1) standard letter telling the customer about windshield repair and method of repair 2) a letter from the registar of motor vehicle showing that repairs are legal in your state -3) windshield repair pamplet-4) References :?:

it will be used for dealerships/fleet accounts/ jiffy lube lol. It wil be more of a proposal than a letter. listing my prices and services, history about the company. Of couse I will go in person and try to sell myself right then, but I wanted somthing also to leave behind. Thanks for everyones imput

That is not a letter, it is a fact sheet. Using fact sheets is just fine, as long as you indeed go there yourself and meet the people in person.

FRANK U Thats right a fact sheet?? the best time to present a fact sheet is to go cold calling when you cannot work ie raining and call at a car dealer or fleet account and present yourself to an account. Thats is how I started doing buisness here in the US, getting started is not a overnight item it takes years sometimes. I was working two jobs windshield repair during the day a fulltime job in the evening :roll:

Walk in the door and introduce yourself before going in walk the lot and see what is out there offer to give him a good deal on what is there to get your foot in the door.
A letter will not be read by anyone who actually makes a order at the Dealership the office people open everything and throw stuff like yours out.
I went into this buis after 20+ years in Autosales and do a big portion of my work at dealerships the result is I have forgot more about dealership work just today than the average guy will ever learn so trust me on this if you dont walk in the door and sell yourself you wont do any work there.

That is correct when dealing with a car dealer ie selling yourself look to speak to the used car manager you may have to give a car dealer or fleet account a freebie windshield repair just to get your foot in the door. If you put a fact sheet togther you can use a cover letter out of the handbook that comes with your windshield repair eqiupment which also includes a pricing of repairs . :lol:
