starting a busniess in windsheild repair
I know someone who is in windsheild repair. He uses glass mechanix repair.
I have been looking into windsheild repair to make some money. I like delta windsheild repair in show to be easer to use.
I know it is good to be certified in one way but not in the other way. Ithink that how you do your repair is more hands on

Longcrackstar,
Welcome the windshield repair forum, you will find lots of helpful information here. In my opinion, windshield repair can be a great full-time job or a good way to supplement your income. There are a lot of technicians on the forum that use different equipment so I encourage you to read some of the previous posts. Also, doing windshield repairs is hands-on but there is a standard (ROLAG) that a lot of technicians adhere to. I have read numerous publications about the pros and cons about certifications but I feel that it is a personal choice, but at Delta Kits factory and training certification course we teach technicians in a practical manner while following the ROLAG standard. If we could be of any more assistance I encourage you ask more questions, call into Delta Kits, or PM me.

First things first, in order to start a business you need to be able to spell the word business....LOL I am sure it's just a typo. I amjust busting your chops.
Anyway welcome to the forum and while your at it tell us where you are located. There is a ton of info here if you just take the time and look through it.
Once again welcome!

Welcome to the forum and welcome to the industry.
Good Luck on your startup. You will find this a great business. Like many others, it is a business and should be treated as such. That doesnt mean you cant have fun too, it just means that the more serious you are, about the basics (to start with) the better foundation you will build and the more money you will make.
And you will start to learn as we all did, the little things that make it great. Like meeting all kinds of great people and providing a great service you can be proud of offering................All been said before.
But wanted to say hello and welcome!
Search by topic in the forum and subject.
Not a bad idea to just scroll through some of the older postings too. Some of it may not make a lot of sense at first, but it will as time goes on! I think they are trying to run a pretty good forum.
A lot of great info here and some pretty cool guys!
Cheers

Re: starting a busniess in windsheild repair
Good luck longcrackstar,
Better add windshield to that short list of mispells. Since it's twice, might be more than a typo. I probably have one or two here also, so I won't hammer you over it.
I hope you do make some money, as you stated in your single goal.
I hope you get good equipment and proper training, hopefully from Brent and his crew at Delta. Then you will be able to do six other things besides making your money. They will be:
Save the customer money.
Save the customer's original factory seal.
Save the customer time and vehicle down-time.
Restore safe driving vision for the customer.
Restore value to the customer's vehicle.
Help the environment by keeping the windshield out of the landfill and avoiding 2 pounds of carbon emissions for each pound of glass manufactured.
It's a great business full of many great people. I hope you become one of them.

I would check with the city, county, and state to see what or if any permits are needed to be a windshield repair technician.

Sorry about the mispells.
I have fat fingers. It was a long day.
Questions I will have later.
