Has anyone here tried this??

Post by everest_4 »

When you go to the complete kits on Delta's website like this link here, http://www.deltakits.com/windshield-rep ... ucts/3/93/ there's an advertisement for a marketing course from Impact marketing.

Has anyone actually bought this and used it to their success? I don't want to be skeptical here but they make some pretty bold claims in it.

I'm with you. It looks like alot of great information. Just have to be careful nowadays. I would think it would have to be fairly good it Delta is promoting it. I would also like to hear from anyone who has used the program.

I got that program with my deltakit. It is usefull in getting setup with all the insurance companies, credit cards, processing of claims etc... It provides phone #'s and contacts to key people or organizations that you will need to contact. It gives detail information on setting goals and generating contacts. I come from a sells background and I found it to be on target with many of its recommendations. I take what I need from it and leave the remainder. I dont agree with some of the material, but overall; it is worth having if you are just starting out in W/S repair with NO sells background or insurance /credit card processing experience. Iam part-time for now w/plans to be full time within two years. His program offers guidance on building a customer base, generating leads, cold canvassing, advertizing. I got the course in May 2009 and within 2 weeks had insurance approval SAG,LYNX Services, AllState, State Farm, mobile credit card service, Yellow pages setup and Business phone & Fax, Business cards, Unform & vehicle Logo. A $500K. liability policy for less than $185 per year using information from his course. Good luck!

Well, you can purchase anything you want, it all boils down to what YOU are going to do with the (often useful) information.

A part of our EU business is a franchise and we have a complete range of very comprehensive marketing, technical and operational manuals available (exclusively for our own people). We need five days for our technical training alone, in our fully equipped training facility, and spend plentiful time in the licensees’ area on top of all that as well. Yet we have seen too many times that licensees simply do not read properly, never ask any questions (they were clearly NOT reading the stuff) or worse; not follow the instructions given. As a consequence....they will perform way below the lowest possible and acceptable criteria. This is not good and the ultimate waste of money, time and energy. Others simply become lazy after some time because they have reached their comfort level. After being around in this business for almost sixteen years I can, as a trainer and long time business owner, sense, and in many times predict, who is going to make things happen or not.

In general I would say that most don’t and are just entering this business because they ‘think or believe’ that this is a very easy business, but than simply forget about the many variables that makes one fail or successful, and there often is a faint line between success or failure as we all know.

In this business it is all about yourself! Many things are just plain common sense, they got nothing, I repeat NOTHING, to do with your level of education.
However, one needs to be willing to learn, be adaptive, be supportive, trained and skilled.
Although you were just asking a simple question, I would add as an answer, just in case things work out differently to what some expected from this business, to not blame any external third parties, it all comes down to how, when and where you do your own things –no matter how long you are in this business for and/or how informed, or not, you are. Go out and do your things in the best possible way and keep your eyes and ears open, there are plenty things to learn every day.

One last funny observation; anybody likes to obtain many things for free or a bargain. Most of these people would never ever consider to be buying into a franchise where all the things one needs in this business are pretty much in place. Believe it or not, but today, with the economy as it is, is a very good moment to be investing in such a franchise, you indeed need to pay an ongoing fee (no matter what kind and in what format), but you do buy peace of mind and can rest assured to be having support and many years of know how. (no, we do not offer any franchise in the USA and we have no plans to do so).

Some will say; that the marketing package is just a waste of money. I would not go that far. Although we have been very successful we are still investing in new ideas, this often includes buying external information. Sometimes we agree with a small portion of the content, sometimes not at all.
But we feel that the least thing we can do is to give things a fair shot and that is exactly the reason why we are willing to pay money.

Whatever you are going to do (be buying that marketing package or not), I wish you all the success you deserve.

Would it be possible for the moderator to alter the text to change some spelling errors?
>commons = common > businees = business > piece = peace

It just looks silly the way things are spelled right now. (man, I do miss the old board function where we could enter the text after the post was posted).

Wow! I was just about to post this exact question myself. Thanks to Frank EU and candyman for their input, does anyone else have anything to say? I am on a fairly restricted budget, but if the package is really useful I would be willing to buy it.

I corrected the misspelled words as requested, and a few more that I caught with spell check. We rarely edit posts unless asked, and don't have time to correct everyone's errors, but you should be able to edit your own posts for a limited amount of time after posting just as you could on the other board. If not, let me know and I will look into it. You can also type your message in Word so you can run spell and grammar checks, then just cut and paste into your message after you are satisfied with it to cut down on errors.
