Training!
Training!
I live in South Central Texas and was wondering who offers training in this part of state that I haven't found on the internet yet? I found a place in Austin,Tx that offers 2 days of training but I'm thinking this isn't enough time to learn what I need to know to make quality repairs even though they say this! and another place in Houston I can go for 3 or 4 days! with a company that's been in buisness for 26yrs! my ? is can I really learn these basic techniques in a few days so I can do quality repairs? I'm a perfectionist when it comes to doing things the right way the 1st time, coming from a maintance back ground this is a concern I have.
I don't have alot of money at this time to spend on someone selling repair kits & training to just run me through and get my money and send me on my way! I would like to work with someone close as who really cares about my ability to do quality repairs so as to represent the buisness in a professional manner so I can build a long term buisness in my area.
I'm considering purchasing a Delta kit or Maybe a Liquid Resine kit to start with. If my thoughts are out of bounds & not going in the right direction any feed back would be greatly appreciated.
Respectively,
Dean

Re: Training!
You can certainly learn the very basics in 1 day, however you will need to go back and practise those basics on practise screen. Make sure whoever trains you teaches you about drying out, aske them first and if they just gloss over it look elsewhere. Most training schools over here do not show it as part of training, and as you know perfect preperation helps towards a perfect repair.

Thank you Mr. Clewis, I have decided to go with Delta, and thank you Korey for all your help on the phone answering my questions! Delta has been the only company that I've actually been able to talk with about concerns and their willingness to to help and support my efforts tells me I need search no longer!! I will be doing buisness with Delta for now on and in the future because of their effort to help me get started.

I agree here with screenman, "and as you know perfect preparation helps towards a perfect repair"screenman wrote:You can certainly learn the very basics in 1 day, however you will need to go back and practise those basics on practise screen. Its a bit like Paintless dent removal, if you don't start the dent right then you will struggle to finish it! Isn't that right Graham>?
If I were you I would pay the money and invest in yourself and get yourself over to Delta Kits.
I went to them after being trained by Bradleys and Esprit in the UK. Bradleys training lasted 2 hours and esprit was a little over 30 minutes

It was ONLY after being on their course and getting certified that I am now 100% confident in repairing screen chips and learnt more from Delta than anywhere else.
They are a relay nice bunch of people to deal with and they do know their stuff. I wish there were more people like them here in the UK as there are far to many trainers here who just should not be training people.

Re: Training!
Three tips
1 get it out of the sun
2 Dry it out - or if you have air line BLOW it out and cool down with aluminum block..and air line
3 Take your time - first compression cycle at LEAST 5 mins - time it! - don't imagine it!
