Anyone have an opinion on ACT?

Post by JWG »

I talked to ACT today, and reviewed the plans they have to offer. Anyone here that has done business with them care to share an opinion?

The company I used to work for used them for the EDI and FAST PAY, we would call the networks with the customer there and get the dispatch or authorization, and then call the invoices in to ACT at the end of the day.

They have a 12.95 Full service plan that does everything but sell the job and do the repair. Does anyone know if the fast pay is a part of the full service plan, or is it extra. I think I would rather call them into the networks myself on the spot with the customer and only spend $6 ($2.95 EDI and EFT, $3 FAST PAY) per job rather than $16.

What do you guys think?

I use the smallest ACT plan because most the repairs I do are with safelite, which I am able to invoice online. For the repairs through LYNX, I use ACT and pay the 3 bucks or whatever for their basic plan. Once LYNX allows repair techs to invoice online, I'll have no need for ACT. Its a decent service for what we use. We have been having troubles where about 95% of the invoices get rejected the first time and have to be resubmitted, even though the info is imputed perfectly and correct. Not a big deal, just adds between 3 and 7 days before we get the EFT deposited. I have never used their fastpay system so no comments on that.

So If you set up a plan with ACT, and they set you up with the networks, can you pick and choose which invoices you process thru ACT?

JWG,

ProView WSR is right!

Just as they do we do. All Lynx is filed through ACT. All our Safelite is. Filed@ the Safelite website.
Always Call and get your approvals yourself! Always make sure you get all the information ie; vin, policy# ect., ect.

So if your asking "can you pick and choose which claims you will file with ACT, I'd say yes if following the above.

I use the $5.95 plan. When Lynx begins accepting over online I too will no longer need such service or will only need to use a very small percentage of it.

ACT told me today that I could use the full service plan ($13) whenever I needed it, if I decided to go with a lesser plan. If I call it in myself it would be $6 if I have them doing the followups, $3 if they dont. They will only give the FAST CASH option on the $6 and $13 plans, for an additional $3.

I think that the $3 plan just for lynx is going to be the way I go. I always fill out the invoice correctly and completely, I usually only had problems with maybe 1 out of 25 invoices anyway. Is it really worth it for the follow up? Do you really get that many rejected even when all the info has been entered correct?

I want to go the cheapest route. I have no problem calling the networks on the spot, but if I do get 2 or 3 repairs at one time, the full service option is nice to have if the time issue was going to cost you a repair.

I'm POSITIVE I enter all the claim information PERFECTLY...so I'm not sure where it get's messed up, but a few days after the submission get's rejected, apparently ACT resubmits the claim correctly. Its not that big of a deal really.
