Pay per windshield repair Lead

I signed on with AutoGlass Search and they charge $10.00 per lead. In amonth I average with them 7 to 9 leads unitl i recently specified that i only do repairs not replacements people would call me for anything wasting my money. Has anyone had any luck with the pay per lead web sites. I know another one Emergency Glass repair and they cost the same but I haven't signed on with them yet.

Same expierance here. We had lost dot.com web address in March and had to get new site up in searches as fast as possible. Clicked on the free sign up and oked the agreement.
We began getting so many replacement calls and areas we don't serve and didnt know where they were coming from.
Then we had $288.00 (at $12.00 per call) added to visa. called to cancel, and get refund.
They said they would change to repair only and reduce service area. Also give me free equivilant number of calls coming in with new info on my site. I have had no calls at all since then.
I have called four times with no response from voice mails. Finally called a different number and told to email customer requesting refund. Guess what? No response.
I have emailed to one of the Glass magazines and they will possible run an article.
Basically we had six repairs I identified from autoglasssearch.

I edited my title of my company and put next to it "REPAIRS ONLY, WE DO NOT INSTALL GLASS OF ANY TYPE we are not permited to recomend and installation companies."
That reduced the calls to 6 and it seems to work a little I still get some knuckle head calling for a replacement I'll refer them to safelite to teach them a lesson. Anyway that what i did it seems to work nort as many replacement calls. Emergency glass I'm still waiting to here from.

Dear felow repairers, it is up to you, it is your business and money, but I would not join any referring web site, I can see their business, they will always be doing good. You typically will be getting useless leads and too much hassle in getting your money back (refund). We are in business to make money coming our way, and we are not keen on paying for any referal, in fact we never did in almost 16 years. Have a proper website, a phone number, professional stationary, leaflets, stickers, business cards and a sign written truck or van, and go out to see (and meet) as many as possible prospects, influentials and customers. Do it, go out and go there. And of course; be there when people need you most!
