Looking for feedback on the Delta mobile battery system, #BTYC100. Specifically how long it holds a charge with every day use of a 12v-9watt dual curing light.

Keep it charged up or it will go bad. I've had mine for about three years and I let it stand without charging for two weeks and it refuses to hold a charge now.

Small batteries like the one in question only have a life expectancy of about 3 years, but if you keep in plugged into the maintainer every night you can often get an extra year or even two out of it. If any of you still have the old style chargers with the 6v/12v switch on the top I suggest upgrading to the new maintainers. They are meant to be left on the battery whenever not in use and will not overcharge, thereby lengthening the battery life significantly.

This was a good post to clarify proper battery care. In a previous post, I seem to recall that the batteries would provide the greatest lifespan if they were allowed to fully discharge before re-charging.

Does re-charging the battery 1-2 times/week shorten the lifespan of it?

I understand this depends on the amount/time it is used for each repair. But, some techs may do 30 repairs a week and others my do 3-4. So, to avoid a dead battery in the middle of a repair, is there an approximate number of uses for the "curing lamp" before it needes to be recharged?

If a WSR tech is using a "moisture evaporator" for each repair, how many times can it be used (including the "curing lamp") before the battery needs to be recharged?

Some batteries need to be fully discharged from time to time for maximum battery life. The charger also makes a difference as many, even supposed trickle chargers, will overcharge a battery. Such was the case with our older style chargers so if you have one of those you should follow the directions and allow the batteries to discharge. You should also limit the number of hours on the charger as recommended in the instructions.

The new style Delta Kits batteries and chargers can be left hooked up 24/7 without damage. There is no reason or advantage to allowing them to discharge before putting them back on the charger. I'll have to check the exact date, but we have been selling the new style charger/maintainers for a couple of years now.
