Has anyone noticed much of a difference in the number of customers you get based on the area you are in. By that I mean do you find more or less success in upper, middle or lower class neighborhoods? ... Or have you found that it doesnt matter much. What are some cheap/or free ways of advertising that you have found? If we all chip in or comment we could find a lot more work and find ideas that we never thought of...

If there is anything I've noticed as far as demographics goes is that in areas where there is more winter (ice, sand, rocks) or construction going on (mostly everywhere) is where you will find the business percentages are greater (more chips per cars). I know that as I have traveled around doing repairs, I have more concentrated numbers in areas like Colorado (winters) and Chicago...........and less (as far as percentages go) in Florida or warmer climates..........

We live in a very mobile society and more people are driving longer distances and more are interested in saving more by having a repair done first (where maybe a couple years ago, they might have been a little quicker to replace)

But I think you will find that all types of cars get damaged, doesn't matter if they are low or medium or high income areas.

The main thing is to get out and start meeting people and offering your services......start with your local business parks. If someone has a chip they will appreciate that you are there and you may get the job, if they don't have a chip, they may know someone (son, daughter, whoever) who might.......either way, if you develop a routine route, they will get used to seeing you and who knows, sometime in the future they may need you!

And if they don't need you now, maybe the guy in the next office (or his secretary or co-workers) will!

Good Luck!!
