Are there any administrative companies who will take care of billing the insurance companies for windshield repair. If so, could I be supplied with the company names and what some of their charges are. I want to do the repairs and pay someones esle to take care of the invoicing the insurance companies.
Thanks
Dave

Re: Insurance Billing
Click on the following link to see a list of the most popular insurance billing services for windshield repair and a survey showing which are the most popular with windshield repair forum members. viewtopic.php?f=22&t=4130&hilit=+What+s ... nvoices%3F
I think the survey is a bit skewed by the fact that Delta Kits used to recommend both ACT and eDirectGlass for several years. I think if we run the survey again in a year or so the results will be very different now that Delta Kits does not offer recommendations for insurance billing services.
Delta Kits no longer recommends eDirectGlass because of price increases, poor customer service, and failure to fulfill contractural obligations. If you do consider eDirectGlass be sure you understand the fee structure.
We still believe ACT is a very good option for some glass repair technicians. Our customers report they offer good customer service and have 3 plans that currently vary in price from $2.95 to $12.95. There is no monthly fee and no software to purchase.
DataTranz seems to have some of the best prices, but we have found the customer service to be lacking when we have contacted them and everyone we talk to claims to pay a different price per claim.
We have heard that GlassComp offers good prices but again we have found the customer service to be lacking. In fact don’t even know for sure if they are still around.
GTS and MainStreet seem to be more geared to glass replacement than windshield repair, but might be worth checking to see if there is a repair only option that would work for you.
*Although not reflected in the survey which is limited to windshield repair forum members, most technicians that we work with bill everything they can through SGC and Harmon Solutions Group because it is easy and FREE.
We currently use Quest to bill claims that we cannot run directly through SGC and HSG websites. Quest is also geared more to glass replacement, but they do have a glass repair only module and the current per claim fee is only $.99 with a $15/mo minimum, so depending on your volume it may or may not be the best option for you. There is a onetime software fee so you will have to factor that into your comparisons. Customer service at Quest has been very good.
There is no one size fits all company for insurance billing, so you should contact each company and compare all the pros and cons side by side to see which one is the best fit for you. Your choice will likely depend on your volume so be realistic about the number of repairs you will be billing through these services each month and I’m sure you will find the one that works best for you. I hope this helps.
