Looking to do a Resin Group buy for Central Texas Techs!
Prior to posting this post I confirmed that it was okay to post, so don't freak out people.......
I'm looking for other Techs in the and around the Austin, San Antonio, possibly even Fort Worth and Dallas to do a group buy on a liter bottle of Resin.
I would like either 1 or 2 others to join me and we can save ourselves some money!
I'm looking to purchase a 1 Liter bottle of MAGNIBOND for $450.00 + Shipping
So, if you're in the area and want to get either 333 ML for $150 plus your part for shipping or if you want to go half and half, I can do that to..... $225 plus ship for 500ML.........thats an AWESOME DEAL!!!
I can buy a liter, but that is a lot of RESIN!
It would take me a year or so to use that much......
PM me if you're in the Central Texas Area and you may want to do something like this....
Thanks!

How much would you save per job buying this way?

Figure it out yourself if you want to know.remember math(s)?...or yous a calculator.
Even if he can save 1 cent(penny) per repair good for him.

I already buy by the litre, I was just trying to see if others thought of the benefits. Personaly I do not really try and save pennies I prefer to make ££££££. There are a few things to take into mind when buying in bulk, storage and decanting are 2 things that spring to mind.

Here is the Breakdown (These numbers do NOT include the cost of shipping for the Resin):screenman wrote:How much would you save per job buying this way?
Delta recommends 7 drops per Chip Repair (this DOES NOT include Cracks)....
1ml = 16 drops
15ml = 240 drops
One 15ml bottle = approximately 34 Repairs @ $0.88 cents per repair (bottle Cost $30 plus Ship)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
30ml = 480 drops
Two 15ml bottle = approximately 68 Repairs @ $0.81 cents per repair (2 bottles Cost $55 plus Ship)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
250ml = 4,000 drops
One 250ml bottle = approximately 571 Repairs @ $0.53 cents per repair (bottle Cost $300 plus Ship)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1000ml/1 liter = 16,000 drops
One liter/1000ml bottle = approximately 2286 Repairs @ $0.20 cents per repair (bottle Cost $450 plus Ship)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay, so for those that were curious to know how much it cost you (approximately) to Repair a single chip, depending on the amount of Resin you purchase a single time.
Regarding the shelf life, if you take care of the bottle and the Resin and you use common sense (i.e. don't leave it in the sun), you shouldn't have to worry about losing any resin.
So......if you have the $$$$ to buy in bulk, I would suggest doing so!

You have done a good job seeing the potential savings with buying in bulk. Hats off to you. However, at Delta Kits, we have done this study several times and our findings were a little different than yours. We believe the savings to be even bigger than what you found! I think the difference in our findings comes down to the number of drops you get out of a 15ml bottle of resin. We had 6 different technicians do this study about a month ago and each one of them came up with a different number of drops per bottle. The smallest number came out to 380 drops (about 54 repairs) while the largest number came out to 494 drops (about 71 repairs) with all of the other numbers somewhere in between. This study told us several things. 1: Not all drops were created equal. Some people squirt out big drops and some people squirt out small drops. It all depends on how hard you squeeze the dropper. 2: You should be able to get at least 50 repairs per 15ml bottle of resin.
Here are the numbers we found at Delta Kits when we did the same study you did (just to be safe we lowered the number of drops down to 50 repairs per bottle):
15ml 50 repairs $0.60 per repair
(2) 15ml 100 repairs $0.55 per repair
250ml 833 repairs $0.36 per repair
Liter 3300 repairs $0.14 per repair
Again, I think we could do this study 100 times and get 100 different results which is why we used the lowest numbers possible. Individual results will most certainly vary from person to person. I just wanted to give everyone another perspective. Clearly, the motivation to buy in bulk is still the same.

What is the shelf life of a liter of resin properly stored and opened frequently to replenish your work bottles?

The shelf life for a liter of resin that is free from contaminants is 1 year. If the resin were contaminated by foreign matter the shelf life would be negatively affected. The amount of affect the foreign matter would have on the resin is unknown as it would depend how much and what got into the resin.
