I get all of my products from Delta and the bits are the only things i have ever had a problem with. Every new bit I have used has broken the first time it is used. I have always gotten it out with tweezers. I rarely ever drill now because of the hassle and most breaks dont need it. But if I do, I always pre-break the bur to about half the size. I have never had one break since and the repairs have all been great. It just beats having to dig it out by breaking it before hand.

I will say that most of the repairs i see here in Utah that people bring me have bits stuck in them. I get a lot of people who want me to refix a repair they had done elsewhere. So I pull a lot of these guys out. I notices also, nobody here believes in pit resin or polish.

If you are breaking burs you are doing something wrong. Must be something in the water in Utah as I have have rarely ever seen a technician leave part of a bur in the glass. Seriously though, we have technicians drill several holes in our training classes and can't ever remember anyone breaking one. I'll check with the other trainers to see if they have seen anyone do it. It just should not happen.

I've tried breaking off dull burs to get more life out of them but never found it to work very well. Not worth the trouble in my opinion, but to each his own I suppose.

Give me a call Ben. Maybe we can get to the bottom of this problem you are having.

Back to the original question (although the statement about breaking evry bit while using a new one is pretty damn funny)
When you come across something like a previos repair with something stuck in it Its best to just tell the customer that it has been repaired before and there is not much you can do for it dealers undestand this and respect the guy who will be honest with them rather than just making a sale
