New to forum
Hello, I am glad I found this forum....I was a windshield repair tech about 6 years ago....I am re-entering the field and have noticed many changes particularly in ins. billing. I have also read about the need to obtain credentials from lynx, and a couple other companies. Can someone in the know please clue me in? Is there a different way to bill now? What are these credentials ansd what will I need to do to obtain them? Hey thanks so much.....

Re: New to forum
Welcome to the windshield repair forum stihlcarven. I can have someone in my office walk you through the entire process of getting signed up with Safelite, Lynx and Metryx, Harmon, Quest, etc. It sounds confusing but it's really not all that difficult. We can also help you decide which EDI provider to use, or if you need to use one at all. We don't charge for this service and don't have a vested interest in any third party administrators or or EDI providers. Just give us a call at the number at the top of the page.

Welcome Back and remember to visit here often. After scrolling around (as you probably have noticed) you should find just about everything there is to know here or through the members!
The billing seems to go through cycles in the past 19 years, same thing over and over, some good, some not so good. But as you get back into it you can always call the agents and insurance companies too (when you are at a loss) and ask them, "I am here completing a repair on one of your customers and would like to know where I should send the invoice and if there are any other things I should know about how to get this repair processed (sometimes they will give you a approval number or code over the phone-or form from the agent). I always try to call when the customer is close by, in case they want to speak to them.......sometimes that's not possible, so I always include a little letter with the invoice, requesting them to process it or let me know what they need.
Not all that complicated once you dive in!
PS. Keep good records, that always helps!
