Part time or Full time?

Post by Frank EU »

I am just curious how many fellow forum members are doing windshield repair on a part time or full time basis? Some people are also offering services on the side, like we do, such as scratch removal and headlight repair. As you may know, we are full timers, how about you? :?:

I have two businesses and I work in the windshield repair/headlight restoration/pin striping business an average of 30 - 35 hours a week right now. My other business is totally unrelated to WR and I do this early in the mornings and in the afternoons when I get home. There are times in the summer where I will work 70 -80 hours a week if my customers need me. I work only dealerships and fleets and when the customer calls, I go the extra mile to service them.

I mainly work 8 - 1 or if the phone keeps ringing then till 3 and add the others to the next morning. My back is done by that time.... Boy, I remember the days it was from 5am - 8pm in the summers. and just think, we did not make the money back then as we do now... I may not be working at that point then.

Frank,

I am part time independant, only in the sense that I have a fulltime career in aviation. Beyond that I have a fulltime involvement in that I run all aspects of my business even if I am not physically out in the field doing repairs everyday.

As far as offering other services we do offer headlight restoration but certainly do not market this service the way it needs to be promoted.
