Colored Lens

Post by scrubs147 »

Just curious and I think I already know the answer to this but I thought that I would be better off safe than sorry. Can tail lights be restored using the same procedure to restore headlights. I have a job coming up on an RV (coach style motor home) that has three different colored lens which are white, orange, and red. What can I expect as far as clarity while bringing back the original colors?

My thought is if they just look oxidized, Just use 3000 rubbing compound. Rub it out and polish it down then.

I had a dealership that always had several used yukons, suburbans etc that the rear lenses look really bad on I found you didnt have to sand them just clean and coat look like new when you are done

Thank you for the replies. That's what I thought as far as being able to restore colored lenses but just wanted to double check. As far as just polishing instead of sanding, that makes sense depending on the severity of the lens.
