DataTranz EDI Software

Post by bogiegolfer1968 »

Hello All, I've been using ACT for a few years now and want to start sending invoices myself through an EDI program to save on fees. Is anyone using the version from DataTranz? How long does it take to get paid when using EDI?

Hello 90,
Sorry I can't help with the Data Tranz question, but as far as how soon you get paid, here is my experience. The EDI will speed up the process slightly and save you money on processing fees but direct deposit will make a bigger difference. The networks that still mail checks take about 30 days, the ones that I have signed up for direct deposit pay in about 10 to 15 days. Invoices are sent EDI to both so I am assuming direct deposit is the big difference.

Well, you have several options when deciding whats right for your company when choosing Data Tranz.

I have only used Datat Tranz, and to be honest with you, I have had my fair share of complaints about them (99% being Customer Support).

But with that being said, they're one of the easier ones to work with.

If you're a Repair only company ( no replacements) you can submit through Fax EDI, Site EDI, and Software EDI

FAX & Site EDI are $2.49 per repair and NO other fees

Software EDI is $.99 per invoice, but you have to purchase the Manager Software for $239.99 plus pay a monthly CS Fee of $24.95, and don't forget your $.99 per invoice fee....$540 annually plus invoice fees

They both take around the same time to get paid, you're looking at about 10 to 15 days.

FAX & Site EDI is good for the Shop that may only get a few or less Insurance jobs a day. But if you're a company that is generating 100+ Insurance repairs a week, Software is probably the smart way.

The other option is if you do Installs & repairs, you could purchase the Lookup Software for $675 (annually), and this will allow you to submit EDIs for Repair and Replacement in addition to having access to the NAGS database, you can also get eScheduling with this software.

From a personal experience, I have used Manager & Lookup & Paper EDI, and right now I'm doing everything paper edi, but I will be getting Lookup again this spring and will continue using it from then on out....

Anyhow, not sure if this info is anything different than what is on their site or what they told you......
