When I started using my Delta equipment in Sept. 2009, I did not use gloves because when I was with Novus years ago I never wore gloves. I know resins we use now are a lot different and are better.
My problem is my hands are dry and crack real bad even though I wear nextile gloves all the time. I also use derma shield. I am aware that I got the sensivity to the resin in the beginning when I did not wear gloves due to my lack of knowledge on the subject.
The question is, does any one else have this problem and what can I do about it? The best thing I use is Emu oil based lotion. It gives me temporary relief but does not heal.

Re: Sensitivity to megabond
MagniBond has a very low acrylic acid content so unless, as you mentioned, you developed a sensitivity to acrylic acids prior to using it, sensitivity is rare. However, since you obviously have developed a sensitivity somewhere along the way and even Derma Shield and Nitrile gloves are not solving the problem I recommend that you use an acid free resin. I would be happy to send you a free sample of Delta Kits acid free windshield repair resin for evaluation. If the MagniBond is causing an allergic reaction you should not use it, but I fear that if that is the case any resin with any amount of acrylic acid content is going to give you the same results.
Acid free resin is probably your best option. Give me a call or drop me an e-mail with your contact information if you would like to try a free sample. This offer is available for anyone else who has used used a resin in the past or is currently using a resin that has caused sensitization to acrylic acids.

Re: Sensitivity to megabond
I had a serious reaction to Novus resins when I used them. I found a Dr. who prescribed Triamcinolon cream. This is the only thing I have found to help heal resin rash. As far as I know, this is still a prescription so you will have find a Dr. to prescribe it for you. Good luck.

Re: Sensitivity to megabond
I was introduced to GlovePlus "Black" nitrile gloves by a customer that owns the local Interstate Battery territory. They sell these to auto repair shops and people exposed to battery acids. Distributed by Ammex reorder #GPNB46100. I used to use the blue nitriles and still had skin issues. Now very very rarely do I have problems even when I'm busy for a couple hours. I don't recommend wearing them for that amount of time but it has been my experience.
Re: Sensitivity to megabond
Thanks for the response on my original post on march 2, I will start by getting the acid free resin and trying that. Since my original post I have started using Colloidal Silver water and it seems to be clearing up. My right hand dries and cracks in the areas that resin leaks on my gloves. I am very careful now of getting it on me but it still happens. Again thanks for your inputs.

Re: Sensitivity to megabond
A leaky glove is worse than no glove at all because it traps the resin against the skin. Some gloves are better than others and some of the black gloves have excellent resistance to punctures and tearing, but with quality comes a price. We use a good quality blue glove that we can offer for a competitive price, but I have to admit there are better gloves if price is not an issue, and if you have a skin sensitivity price should not be an issue. Get the best gloves you can get your hands on and throw them away every time you take them off.

Re: Sensitivity to megabond
I became allergic to acrylic acid 17-18 years ago. I made many payments on my doctor's Mercedes until I found Cortisone 10 creme.
It was prescription only, now over the counter, available everywhere. Great stuff.
I wear nitrile gloves even when carrying my tool box.
When you are sweating, always use paper towels to dry your face, then throw them away.
I have recently gone on board with Delta and MagniBond and I am totally satisfied.
