Hey Chad, I used them for the first time the other day and they got the real test....we frequently get high winds here and that day way particularly strong. They blew right off the pole and had me running after them through the parking lot where my new site is located. It is a problem that probably has a simple solution, I just haven't worked it out yet....I am also curious to see how well the material holds up in heavy wind conditions. They are advertised to be able to withstand high winds so we will see....the tire stakes held all day....the wind rocks the poles back n forth and I am concerned of metal weakening over time...again we will see. I am in the process of working out my hi wind issues...my ez-up tent was destroyed on the same day...I had it anchored down very well and the wind simply folded the metal legs over....I had even taken the canopy off....the 2 banners I had on the frame was enough to break it I guess.....all in all I am pleased with the added visibility the swooper flags have given me....they are impressively large as you well know.

Just a little "common sense" working in the wind. If it is breezy use the tent and banner, If it is windy and gusty, don't use them.
Next time you may not be as luck with your stuff blowing all over. You may hit a car with them and then have a loss damage...

Try using a clevis pin to hole it in place. Drill a hole through the bracket pipe and pole then pin it.

I will say, why don't you come on down here and learn a little. The first thing you will learn real fast is respect. When you learn that part the rest will come easier.

All I told you is use common sense, Know when to run your banners and when not to. I told you haw to attach it to your bracket.

I left your sorry a$$ alone knowing you could not handle criticizing from others, all you can handle is pats on the back and others to hold your hand till you feel you are ready to go on it alone. I can see what you really need is a kick in the a$$ to help you grow up.

I understand your frustration but please try not to let other forum members get under your skin. I have no desire to edit or delete posts, but it is my job to keep things civil here on the windshield repair forum, so I can't let this turn into a pissing match.

Some forum members are very polite and politically correct, and others are a bit more abrupt which does put people off at times. Unfortunately the vast majority of forum members are lurkers, not because they have nothing of value to contribute, but because they don't like that way some forum members respond to their posts. I'm glad you have chosen to remain a contributing member and hope that you will be able to ignore the posts of those who rub you the wrong way.

This is a no win situation for me because about 50% of forum members want me to ban all of those who like to get people riled up, and the other 50% doesn't think should be any moderation at all. All I can do is try to remain neutral and treat everyone the same based on the basic forum guidelines that each of you agreed to when you joined the windshield repair forum.

Your post was very creative and gave me a good chuckle this morning, but please don't let other forum members goad you into a name calling or any other activity that might cause us to remove a post.

To be fair I am also leaving the response from just chippen away, but it ends here guys. Get back on topic or take it somewhere else.

Boy did this post go around the block! Amidst the dust, -thank you stihlcarven for the reply to my questions about a tent, banners and signage. I know this will be my next big expense and with the custom printing and all, I want to "get it right" from the start to avoid unnecessary expenses.

Apparently just chippen away doesn't work in Colorado. Where are you located just chippen? I looked up some of your older posts and can't find out where you are.

Colorado winds sometimes come off the mountains in a hurry and are a little unpredictable. Sometimes they stick around most of the day and other days a few gusts and that's it. If I ever do a fixed location, I don't even think I would use a tent because of the wind factor.

Anyway I just wanted to stick up for stihlcarven. He just got the flags and didn't know they would blow off the poles and I am sure the wind came out of nowhere too. I appreciate you sharing your experience stihlcarven and I like the looks of the swoopers!

Hey Roo!! I am in Colorado Springs. I am preparing to invest in a van to letter up and rid myself the need for a tent...I primarily needed it to hang banners on....I have an amazing view of Pikes Peak where I am and you are correct..the winds here come off the mountain and a 60 mph gust isnt all that uncommon....it was a gust like that that grabbed both swoopers off the poles and sent them sailing like giant ghosts....I actually like the idea Just Chippen Away had...although I think he thought that the pole went flying to...but I could put a grommet at the base of the flag and drill into the meatl post and secure it with a bolt and wingnut....but out of spite for that guy I will probably opt to try something less likely to work first. If you get down this way look me up...we'll do lunch...e-mail me and well exchange numbers. Thanks much for responding...hope you have a profitable weekend....seems to be the busiest days for me.
