UV dome

Post by mybigmac »

I don't know how many of you out there use a UV dome but I think they are great. I did a repair today while it was drizzling and it kept out the rain and I find it easier to use than the flat UV shield that came with my kit. You can see what you are doing and it keeps the resin from curing while you are doing the repair. I recommend it if you don't already have one.

I have a uv dome, have only had it about three months. it is great except for one thing. the suction cups do not stick to the windshield. mine is constantly coming loose. it is really a nusance, thinking about just using the shield

I agree the UV dome is excellent. I will probably get a second one soon because I don't like using the shield anymore.

Kenny, I carry a spray bottle with water in it and spray a drop on my finger and rub it on the suction cups it helps tremendously. Also make sure the windshield is clean where you are going to put it. I haven't had a single issue with it not sticking since doing these two things.

Try Roo's remedy of putting water on your suction cups, and if that doesn't work please call or email me and I will send you some new suction cups.

I know what the problem is, maybe, as a newbi I get in a hurry sometimes (ha ha) having 2 cars or more at the same time, not getting area clean and just putting a little saliva on 2-3 cups. I will try and slow down and follow thru that is no doubt my problem. thanks for the reminders

I do like the bubble dome! It is obvious it is more effective when dealing with "Rain" or "UV" However due to it's bulkness I actually feel the shields are more efficent when dealing with multiple repairs. Simply roll em up and the can store away in your toolbox. I do like to use the dome when in a highly traffic area as it draws alot of attention and brings me business!

I will more than likely only own two at the most. 1 for each van. But at least 4 ea. van of the shields!
