"Square" Easy Credit Card Payment!

Yes, I actually spoke about this in another post about a month ago. They seem to be pretty good, just very slow on getting the swiper out. I still haven't gotten mine.

I have an ipad and that's what I was using it with, it's pretty cool on the ipad, not sure on the iphone though.

Hopefully they will launch the CC payment of their services soon.

according to the website (square.com)..it will work on an iPhone.

It does work on the IPhone as a key in entry type order only. The card reader for the IPhone has not been introduced at this time.

This is confusing - The square website says that the iPhone card reader is available and they are in the process of shipping them out as fast as they can. They say that once they are ready to ship the card reader to you, you will also receive an email with an activation code. I haven't read anything about being able to key in information to process a charge without the card reader, though if it is true, that would be a great feature. I filled in the necessary application three weeks ago and have not heard anything since. I am wondering if they may have gotten ahead of themselves, or if maybe this turned out to be a much more popular application than they had imagined and they are just trying to keep up. During the application process I was never asked for any banking information so I am guessing that eventually Square is going to have to get that information from me in order to deposit funds into my account. I've read through the FAQs on their site and there seems to be several gaps in explaining exactly how this process will work.

When they launched, it was more of a beta launch to see if people would really be interested. So, now that they've completed the beta run and all of the background (legal stuff) junk needed to operated this type of business, they've decided to launch and started shipping the swipers out this last week.

When i visited yesterday, it said my toggle has been shipped. So, I should get it soon! Now, since I use an android phone (hero with sprint), I just have to wait for the firmware update to 2.1 before I can download the android version of Square. I guess I will just have to use it on the ipad for now!

Warning though, if you process a lot of cards/$$$$, you may want to READ the faq's on squares site before you drop your current processor, just a heads up!

I used merchantwarehouse and they have an IPhone app also worth checking out if youve got an iphone!

If you are lucky to have an Apple store in your area, visit them and see how they invoice a sale off an I Phone, or Ipad very interesting. They have a real paperless system and gather their customers emails for their data base.

Well, I loaded the app on my iphone, their was a signup procedure. It did ask me for bank Info and SSN, etc..
The system sent me a email, telling me it would make 2 deposits, to my account..This is normal.. its is 1 to 2 cents..etc
so I will keep you up to date...
The rate seems fair 3.75% plus .15 trans fee...
Time will tell.....

My wife uses this app. on her iphone for a totally unrelated business and it works like a champ.
