Long crack more crack

Has anyone had a problem with long cracks , cracking out further several months after the repair?
Your thoughts please.

What kinda crack was it? Was there any impact point? Where on the windshield did it origin? Are you sure it was clean and dry when you performed the repair? Did you fill it all the way -up to the very last tip? Was it a stress crack?

Did the car-owner push the glass from the inside out? IT WILL open up for sure than!

With the temp rising as to what the temps were a few months ago. The glass is getting warmer and the glass is expanding and if you did not drill the end, there is a small chance it will crack out. If you did drill the end off, there may have been a hairline crack that you may not have seen and it walked off of that point.
I for one use crack jacks on most all cracks that at done in the cooler temps to mimic expansion to the crack. Some say you do not need to use crack jacks, I beg the difference...

I have been using GT's CR resin and have been having better luck with that resin then any other on the market. Yes even Delta. ( I can talk privately on that last line)

Next is, are you gravity filling the cracks or using an injector and sliding? That is were a few crackjacks come in play...

Long Cracks fail at a huge % Thats why I dont do them not sure its good for the buisness people get a reapir done and it fails they tell evryone (Joe Girards rule of 250) get a good repair and they might tell someone. If its over 5 or 6 inches I pass on the repair

To some they just like doing chips, The are fast and easy money.
Some others like doing the cracks having the challenge and having the faith in their own work... If a crack was not going to hold I personally would not waist my time.
I may not make as much as I should on a crack, but the customers are happy that their W/S was saved...

You are right...people talk.
And since we offer a money back guarantee, we don't take the risk.
I mean, in the unlikely event it's happening, we DO refund, but we're not in business to let that become a habit eh?

Last but not least.....it is a very GOOD lesson for the customer.
We see many people who do NOT want it repaired, but come back to see us when it's been cracked out. Then, suddenly, they're in a rush.
Sorry, too late. Like we mentioned before....people do talk. Let's hope that they spread the word when it comes to crack-outs too.

Normally I dont do long cracks because I feel thet they are way more likely to crack out than a chip repair, since they have already started to crack in the first place.
I did one yesterday because the customer asked me and I knew him.
I was just wondering if anyone had had a problem with them cracking out afterwards.
And YES I popped a bullseye at the end of tha crack!

Sou you popped it. Okay. Wat the crack all dry? Are you sure that any moisture did not run from the crack into your newly popped bull's-eye?
As you know: moisture is killing. And what resin did you use?
