Warranty?

I have read a few posts on how to handle warrantees for chip and crack repairs, and I see that a few people have questioned 'lifetime' warrantees. I wonder if a poll has ever been done on this forum to determine the most common warrantee among us? Also, warrantees are often not worth the paper they are written on. I wonder if a few of you could provide details on what your warranty covers and what it doesn't. Seems to me that it would be great if a warranty could be kept simple.

ps.......I am making my way through the thousands of posts here, but with respect, things change, and so do our opinions (I'm sure) on some things. For this reason, I may ask questions that have been asked in 2007 or 2008 to be sure the responses still hold water.

Lifetime warranty covering what? I think that is what gekog is asking. Because my state has annual vehicle inspections my warranty states that if the repaired area breaks further or fails to pass inspection, I will refund their money.

I tell folks I will repair it again free if it looks like its spreading and apply the repair amount to a replacement with my guy should it be unrepairable. Cant remember the last time I had to do anything

Satisfaction guaranteed at the time of the repair, and no questions asked money back if the repair ever cracks out. Actually if the customer were to have a legitimate beef about the appearance of the repair degrading over time we would cover that as well, but I don't recall that ever being an issue.

Thanks all. It seems that a lifetime warranty is it. Also, it seems that this covers any crackouts or repair discoloration, and that if any damage occurs that originates from a repair, and that now requires that the windshield be replaced, we contribute the amount paid for that repair to the customers cost of replacement. Pretty simple stuff, just like I was hoping.

I have read a few good posts on ensuring that a customer who comes in for a warranty covered repair or refund actually had the work done by your business. Some very good stuff that I will definately adopt.
