moisture evaporator ???

Thanks for the posts everbody,,, Does any one know if it can be used on cracks or just bullseyes and stars? If it has been wet and cold or hot,, should it be used as part of a drying procedure before you start the repair? I think if I get one it will proabley be one with a power cord,, seem to be the most useable Thanks

jonnyone, it should work well on cracks, but I would be careful about getting it too hot and maybe making the crack run.

You don't need to worry about using it all the time... only when you see there is moisture present... hot or cold doesn't matter.

Oh, I also checked the amp draw from a drystar. It pulls about 5 amps. A typical jumpstarter battery is usually about a 17 amp hour battery, so a full charge should be good for about 3 hours worth of use, in theory. I use some smaller 7 amp hour gel cell bateries, so I should have a good hours worth, but I don't think they perform up to specs at this amp draw.

I fixed my broken drystar yesterday... did a brain transplant from a donor lighter plug. That took a bit of work. The actual "broken" part was just the push button "switch". It got to hot and melted, so it wasn't working the way it was supposed to.

BTW, the 9 watt dual tube cure lamps I use draw 1 amp. So if you are used to that, the drystar does drain the battery 5 times faster.

I am going to make up a special battery pack for my cure light so it's cordless. What I have in mind will be relatively light and should be good for at least 30 repairs. I will post results when I find time to get it done.
