How about a promotional forum where people can list their contact info and a brief description of what it is that they have for the WS tech. With pre approval I would think.

This is a really hard thing to think about, because no matter what is done there will be unhappy people. If we gave the people who want to promote their products a place to at least list them maybe they wouldn't try to be so sneaky in the general forum. Maybe even allow them to link to their post in the promotional forum? That way at least the people who might be interested would have a way to see what was available without having to read between the lines and go through multiple steps. There could also be an indicator on each post that the person posting is selling products or information on the other forum. That way no one is being fooled by a post that promotes an item that the poster sells. It could be limited to books, manuals, and marketing materials.

This might not work at all and be a lot more work for the moderators, but the idea did occur to me so I thought I'd put it out there.

Them guys that are smart enough to write books should be smart enough to start their own forum.

Brent already has a site where he allows discussion of other products (lets not forget this is Deltas site) Why would he do something like let other companies sell off his site? If he did we would have to change his screen name to "Boy Aint Quite Rite"

Well I've been called a lot of things over the years, most of which I can't publish. :D When I ask my lovely wife to call me king she says, "Sure, now go mow the palace lawn!" I think my dad said "Boy Ain't Quite Right" many times when I was growing up, so I'm kind of used to that one.

Still thinking about Nomad's suggestion. One problem I see, is that if I open up a forum to advertising I would have to put limits on the number of times a company could post in one day, week, or month, and then spend a lot of time making sure they abide by whatever rule we set for that. Another consideration is whether or not to allow Delta Kits competitors to advertise on this website. Currently competitors are allowed to participate on the windshield repair forum, and some do, but I'm not sure I'm quite ready to help them promote their products on a Delta Kits owned website. Good thought though, especially if we limit it to marketing only. Maybe we can figure out something that will work.

This thread has gotten way off topic, so I think further discussions of this nature should be moved to the Forum Feedback Forum or Water Cooler Forum. Future posts to this thread should get back to the original topic, "Getting Started".

I for one can't purchase enough manuals. I have only been able to find three for windshield repair and I am happy with two of them. I am new to this industry and have been on this forum reading for hours and have read my manuals many times. Both have been invaluable! Mr. Chips delivers a fantastic manual and he has answered all my questions on the phone and through emails. I am in California and have no affiliation with anyone. My confidence needs boosting any way I can get it and I just want to thank everyone for this forum, manuals, and any other way I have received help.

Gracias and good fortune to everyone!
