Insurance Work?
Is there a trick that I have missed out on? When someone is busy working at their job and they cannot seem to find time to deal with their insurance claim, they want their windshield repaired but their busy and cannot deal with the 5-10 minutes that it takes to deal with the insurance. I have lost work because of this. Is there a way that they dont have to deal with it at all, that I can relieve the customer of this stress? This would really help my business if there is such a way any of you know of. I appreciate any solution you offer

You can offer to do the repair for cash (or credit card if you take it) and provide the customer with an invoice for your service which they can submit to their insurance company for reimbursement at their own convenience.kennycrane wrote:Is there a trick that I have missed out on? Re: Insurance Work?
As other guys said cash would be the easiest for you. This has never been a problem for my customers to take 5 minutes to talk to insurance. You might try this approach. Get all the details from the customer ie)date of loss, cause of loss, is there any party at fault, is there any other damage than glass to the auto. Then call the network or insurance Co, get them on the line with insured's info and answers to all of the above, then say I am going to bring the insured on the line to verify the damage now and make a conference call to insured who is happily working at their desk for the 90 second verification process.
You could also just sell it this way. "Mr/Ms insured woudln't it be worth your 5 minutes right now to just verify the damage over the phone and then let me handle all the paperwork." If the customer handles the paperwork I guarantee it will take longer than 5 minutes, plus postage, plus waiting for reimbursement.

Have you tried explaining right away that with a quick call to their insurance company the entire fee will be waived? Then quickly let them know that they can go back inside to work and you will return in about 20 minutes with their invoice. They pay into it monthly with their comprehensive insurance so why not use it?
