I wanted to clean my windshield really good so I thought it would be wise to use one of those green Scotch Brite pads. No so smart, I now have thousands of little scratches on my windshield. I didn't press very hard but hard enough to make the scratches. When the sun hits it just right, they show up pretty bad.
Is there any stuff that I can apply to fix it? Am I looking getting a new windshield?
Any help would be appreciated.

Those are the worst ones to remove-lot's of time and money. Pony up the comp. deductible and get a new one.
Keep the green pads in the kitchen where they belong!

Next time, soap, water, and 4/O steel wool. Applied with a light touch.
BTW, 4/0 applied to the terminals of a 9 volt battery makes a great fire starter. Lot's of uses-Boy Scouts 101!!

Bonehead,
I would highly advise you to contact Delta. They offer a Felt Wheel that inserts into the end of your drill. They also have Glass Scratch Removal powder which you add water and use as your lubing agent. As long as the scratches aren't deep enough for your finger nail to drop into; you shouldn't have any problems getting them out.
Also not sure what was on your glass before you decided to use the green scotch brite pad? If by chance it was "Water Spots" Delta also carries a solution for that as well.
Go to my profile and look at my past posts. Click on the one about Glass Scratch Removal. I used the Delta Wheel and cream and the results were awesome!
Take Care Pal!
