Wording an Invoice
Wording an Invoice
Most of you offer a lifetime warranty on your repairs. But what about on cars that are salvage title? How do you word this situation on your invoice? Another situation would be when it comes to inspections. To my knowledge Gieco is the only one who does this. How can I word my invoice to prevent my repair from being stolen at the time of the inspection? (Since this is the case most of the time)

Re: Wording an Invoice
I service virtually no retail customers. I don't provide a warranty for car dealers. The agreement I have with my fleet accounts is that the repair is guaranteed as long as the glass in in the vehicle (obviously). If the repair fails or does not pass a state safety inspection I provide a total (not pro rated) credit on the cost of the repair to be applied to future work or I will re-repair the damage to their satisfaction, their choice. I'm a bit confused, however. Just what do you mean by your repair being "stolen"?

Puka Pau,
When I say stolen I'm refering to retail work. For example: If I'm repairing a chip with a customer who has Gieco insurance they will require an inspection prior to an attempt to repair. (Gieco is the only one known to do this) Once the appointment is set a Safelite representative (which is Gieco's TPA) will be sent out to do the inspection. Then that's when they make their move. They'll steer away the customer by telling them that they are Gieco's perfered shop and that they don't have to wait to get it repair because they can do it on the spot. Is your agreement with your fleet accounts verbal or written? If written, would you send me a copy?
Thanks

Re: Wording an Invoice
I have verbal agreements with my fleet accounts, so my guarantee is not written on the invoice. You could just rephrase my reply to your first post and you'd pretty much have the intent of my warranty.
