Business Model Phone Calls
Yesterday I rec a call from a person indicating he was looking for a person to do the claims for a particular type of WSR business model. I talked with the individual about 45 minutes. After the phone call I told my wife this was the third such call during the past month. They all got my info off a google search or YP. All three stated since I was set up for claims I could do the processing. Each one knew about deltakits and training in Eugene. One individual called from NJ or NY area and the other one was in Atlanta. The call yesterday was nearer my home. Without going into detail they simply wanted me to process claims for them and they would set people up with kits with training to do WSR at different locations around the state/country.
Have any of you rec a call similar during the past few weeks. Iam leary when someone tells me Iam going to make plenty of money fast. I plan to contact Korey this morning since the last individual stated they have talked or were planning to talk to DK. I dont understand why they simply dont use ACT or Quick Fixx to do that sort of thing. I was trying to get across to the individual that often times the customer must also talk to the insurance company prior to the repair and sometimes depending upon the insurance co, they may also want the ws inspected prior to the repair. This may be a legit business model, but I dont see the high volume he indicates he can get or why he wouldnt process claims through a third party administrator. rather than me. I dont like to risk my name or subject myself to a liability to something Iam not sure I have the entire picture of. You guys on the forum let me know what Iam looking at or dealing with. They all knew about Lynx and SGC networks. The one thing that sticks in my mine was that they all said you are already set up for the above and I would never have to leave my office again and make more money than I ever dreamed. Basicly the same phrase from each caller. I told the guy to call me back on Friday to give me time to rsearch this.

Re: Business Model Phone Calls
First impression - sounds like somebody thought of a way to scam some insurance money but doesn't want any liability if they get caught. sounds like the biller would get stuck holding the bag. Be very cautious.

If it sounds to good to be true........
Re: Business Model Phone Calls
This sounds like a possible version of the "Nigerian Scam". It really makes no real sense from what you describe. In any case, they may have figured out a way to hack into your bank account once you've set up with "their" system. Will be very interesting as more info comes in.

We all know you are a smart man. Ask your self the same question you are asking us.... Again, if it seems to good to be true, "you fill in the blanks"
Also, If you have the caller id on the phone, type in the phone number in the search on the web and see what comes back on the number..... I have found a lot of scammers by doing this only... There is a lot of feed back from others.

Only two things come to mind.
They operated a business that was banned from filing WSR claims and need your identity to proceed or they're trying to gain access to your bank account. I would ask them for a company name and tax i.d. Be interesting as to what they tell you Friday. Keep us updated!

I think the network contracts specifically prohibit this kind of arrangement. I know for sure that SGC prohibits "subcontracting" or "assigning" work order referrals to another company.
There are folks out there that stay up nights coming up with ways to scam the system. When they are located offshore, it's impossible to track them.
They rely solely on telemarketing and emailing companies until they find "just one" that will fall for their pitch. The most common element in their scams is one that subtlely appeals to the "marks" greed. The "mark" then is willing to ignore the "red flags", thinking they're going to cash in somehow. Sad but oh so true.
I'm very interested in finding out all I can about this "deal" to see if that "element of greed" is present and how cleverly concealed it might be.

Re: Business Model Phone Calls
Korey and Brent,
What are your gut feelings about this?
Sure feels like a scam to me! Why would anyone give their banking info to a stranger who could do the job themself, unless there is something shady going on? If they can put money in your account, surely they can take it out!
Other than a scam, maybe to get us to pay for the phone call and save them that expense?

There is good money in insurance billing, which is why so many companies want to file your claims for you. To give you claims to file for others just doesn't sound quite right. That said, I've never heard of this before and really don't have enough information to say one way or another. Likely as not the company reads this forum so I would invite them to give us a call and explain how their program works. If they can prove they are legit maybe we can give them a plug on the forum.

Re: Business Model Phone Calls
Keep in mind, that the networks do not allow sub-contracting, as stated above in other posts, if they find out, your contract with them will end.
Not to mention that if this company does a BUNCH of repairs, if, or better yet, when the repairs fail, who's account is gonna get hit with the charges (The ins. co. taking their money back)? YOU!!!
Hope you take what everyone has said with great consideration, and just ignore the calls or when they start talking on the other end simply tell them that you're not interested and hang up!
