UV Shield Discs

Has anyone tried these UV shields from autoglass solutions?

Will be performing repairs outdoors on location. Have been practicing with the regular UV Shield that you see with most kits (yellow film), but find it kind of cumbersome and always in the way to work under. The discs I reference seem pretty small and fit right on the injector on top of bridge, but if you are only working on small repairs...? Thanks!

We sold them for awhile...might even still have some...but they were not very popular because you could not get a probe under them and they made it more difficult to monitor the repair process. The biggest complaint we had about them was that you had to lift your injector to remove them if you did need to probe or get a better look at your repair. I believe SuperGlass was the 1st one to come of with the disc idea and because theirs are very flexible they are a bit more versatile. Still not a big hit with most of our customers but obviously some technicians like them.

Thanks for your response Brent, Always quick on the mark! That's the info I was looking for. Also, my apologies, I didn't realize we were not supposed to post links. Just curious, what is the reasoning behind this? Lastly, what alternatives do we have as far as UV protection besides the film? Anything that is a little easier to work with? I know an ez-up would help, but I thought UV could still be present from the sides and reflecting off of other objects, plus they are a bit bulky to set up for a thirty minute job. Any suggestions? Thanks.

An EZ-UP does not work at all, I use the UV shield and have done for so long I do not even think about it. In time I bet you feel the same.

I'll keep at it then with the UV screen. Just starting out with all this, so still getting used to the processes and equipment. Thanks guys, for the assistance.

I have used dark towels for 5 years and have never had a problem except on windy days.I use the ones screenman is talking about on windy days.It is all in what you get use to.

Doesn't using dark towels make it pretty hard to see??
