venting
Re: venting
Sir, at the least I'm trying to be objective and you're being totally incoherent.

Re: venting
D2D;
Hmmm. My apologies for opacity. Please let me know how I can clarify or otherwise help you decipher my musings.
It seems that what you and others need more than an 'association' is a labor union that would allow you to collectively bargain with the insurers and networks for trip charges, copays, minimum wage and possibly even a 'per diem' so you'd get paid watching Oprah waiting for the phone to ring while the rest of us are pounding the pavement exercising our rights to operate as independent business people instead of insurance company tools. Clear enough?

Re: venting
I was regretting that last post but you really put it all into perspective with your last line. That's where you'll find me. Thank you.
Re: venting
Read the glassbytes 02/17 article on what happened to the Arizona legislation. It's clear Belron/Safelite has more than enough lobbying money to gut that bill. Would have been practically unenforceable anyway.
Also the latest issue of AGRR has a couple of articles that hit the nail on the head.

FOLLOW THE DOLLAR
LOOK WHO'S GUARDING THE HENHOUSE
I'm sick to my stomach to read that Safelite is behind the production of the "windshield bully" radio spots.

I just Goggled this ad and it is a shame that Safelite is backing this spot. It is also sad that this bully crap does happen.D2D wrote:FOLLOW THE DOLLAR

Re: venting
This "crap" happens in every area of the service sector. What galls me is the "hiding in plain sight" aspect of the source of this "smear campaign" while SGC just sits waiting for it all to fall in their lap. When one of their "inspectors" show up, they just say either, "since I'm here I can go ahead and take care of that chip repair for you", or they just happen to have that cars windshield in their van ready to install on the spot.
Painting the direct sellers of WSR with such a broad brush is shameful and unethical and anyone with half a brain can see right through what the real motivation of this tactic is.
I've been wondering for several years when something would evolve to address the hacks and crooks that give the honest service providers a bad name.
But for it to come about in this fashion is, as expressed in the AGRR article, "the pot calling the kettle black".
SGC's shameful strategy is every bit as bad as any of the dishonest ones in use out there today

Royal Robbins in his acclaimed work on technical rockclimbing, 'Basic Rockcraft' said "...You better learn to see the world as it really is and not what you want it to be, or one day you will see the ground coming up at you very quickly..."
