another TPA question....
another TPA question....
I've been doing a lot of searching through the archives to get as much info as I can. I guess I'm a little confused, when I apply with the TPA's and get denied....does that mean I can't get paid through them? or they just wont refer me to anyone for a year? still confused. TIA.

Re: another TPA question....
You will still get paid, as long as you provide all the correct information on your customer signed invoice. (i.e. authorization#,Vin#, Make and model of vehicle and loss date). No, you won't receive any referrals from them and may experience interference during the phone call with customer. They will commonly tell the customer that your not one of their preferred vendors and will not guarantee your work. It's the customers right to chose who they want for repair but be prepared to explain that prior to making any call to the insured. Not so easy starting out these days in this biz with insurance work but if your vigilant you'll be fine.bklopf1 wrote:I've been doing a lot of searching through the archives to get as much info as I can. Re: another TPA question....
thanks a lot man. That's what I figured, just wanted to make sure. I worked for a guy doing this for 2 years, I've gotten pretty good at talking with customers...I guess this will be a new challenge for me.

You might also consider signing up with ACT, E-Direct or a few others for billing and authorization purposes starting out. There are fees involved but it may help you starting out. Not sure any of these will help you with building first year vendor status with TPA's but it's worth researching.bklopf1 wrote:thanks a lot man. That's what I figured, just wanted to make sure.
