OK let me see if I can explain the rock chip one more time.
Had a BULLSEYE ON TOP 1/2 and CONNECTED TO BULLSEYE on BOTTOM 1/2 it LOOKS like a PEACOCK'S TAIL or a VICTORIAN FAN.
It is like 2 chips in one.......but it is all one rock-chip. The BULLSEYE (TOP 1/2) filled fine but the bottom 1/2 PEACOCK'S TAIL didn't.
I haven't had time to get the picture as the car is on the road someplace.
I hope this help you understand what the rock-chip looks like.

What appears to be connected always isn't. If it didn't fill from the bulls-eye it probably wasn't or it needed some help with your probe to flex it open. Your 2nd choice should have been to treat it as a separate damage. Drill and fill!
