KUDOS TO RLI INSURANCE!
When I started in the WSR business 2003, little did I know how well I would do, considering it was only going to be a part time business. I went around and bought tools and bridges blindly to see what would best work for me and I'm sure that I wasn’t alone in that endeavor. I went to GM who seemed to be the top of the line at the time, spent about $2,400.00 on their promo package which included 3 days in a training class in Vegas and learned how to repair a windshield or so I thought. I learned how to pop a mini bullseye to stop a crack but I had a real problem using their bridges. I tended to use too much pressure and I cracked quite a few practice windshields. So I learned the value of having the best insurance coverage that you could possibly get. Over the next few months I would buy new bridges to try out and finally bought an old B400 bridge to try out. That bridge changed it all for me, it was simple to use, it created it's own vacuum and pressure taking the guess work out of the equation. After awhile, I bought another bridge from Delta Kits and started to trade in the other ones that I didn’t like. I was lucky Delta Kits had their buy back program, it was a life saver then I attended their training class is Los Vegas.
I also discovered the Delta Kits Forum where I learned how to market my business and also found that all of the veterans in this business recommended garage keepers insurance for my business to protect myself from unexpected problems like law suites or damaging the customers vehicle, etc. Most of the people in the forum recommended RLI. They seemed to have the most reasonably priced policy of all of them and its their main business. My agent recommended that I insure my tools and equipment as well since I was a mobile wsr, it made sense so I did. I insured my tools for more than I thought they were worth but found out later the depreciation and the cost of replacement would change over the years
Well, there is a reason I wrote this, because you see, on July 11, 2011 at around mid-night, the unthinkable happened. My work van was broken into and all and I mean all of my wsr tools, equipment and supplies were stolen! In on fell swoop, I was out of the wsr business. The police made a report of the incident and told me that it was very unlikely these things would ever be recovered. The Police officer told me to give him a detailed list with serial numbers of what was taken to keep on file and give to the insurance company.
Well, I keep good records and saved all my receipts over the years and I was able to make a very good list of all that I lost. I put everything I bought and used when doing a repair. It came to over $5,000.00. I included it with the police report and called the insurance company the next day. After discussing it with the claims agent, she told me to wait for the police report to be finished then I was to fax it to them immediately. I received the police report on the 11th of August, a full month after the theft, and faxed it to them. They immediately sent me an email with instructions and to get it notarized. I did and faxed it all back to them and mailed the original. I just received a check for over $4,000.00 for replacement of my tools, only 3 days after faxing the last bit of information to them. So thank you RLI and for all of you who are currently insured by them, congratulations for making one on the best decisions you have ever made.

Re: INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR OUR BUSINESS
I tried looking up RLI on the forum, too short I guess.
I tried looking up RLI online, has a few meanings...
What is the name of the company, and their URL.
Would like to check them out.
Thanks
