Training resin

I'm wondering if theres a TRAINING resin out there anywhere. Maybe a resin with a light red or green to show you if you are filling and repairing properly. It would show the filling,curing, and finished repair. Anyone know of one?

try a little from a bottle and add food coloring in it, see what happens.

The lack of air should show you if it is filled correctly, proper training and perfect practise. Using a colored resin would in my opinion be of no use in learning how to repair a damage, sure you may see the resin flow but if you have been shown this already then there should be no problems.

That's actually not a bad idea but I don't think it exists. When all the air (black) has been removed you will know your chip has been filled. Get a magnifying mirror and attach it to the inside of the w/s and you can watch it fill.

Why not just learn to use the proper resin?
You need to be able to recognise when the resin is penetrating the break and to be able to see if any air remains.
Practice will solve this issue.

Thanks for the replies to my post. I am new to all of this and it's very important to me to do the best repair i can do. I realize that practice makes perfect and the more practice, the better i get. I want to learn all aspects of the repair, so to see it visually i will be able to confirm that all the air is removed and know that i'm progressing along, and someday be as proficient as the company i keep. I may take a different route than you, but i will arrive at the same place. I respect your experience and knowledge, and i hope that you will respect my lack of it. Thanks again so....... i guess from the replies there's no colored resin out there to practice with. (lol)

The more practise you do the more you will find all the signs are there. If I can give one piece of advice to all you new guys, check from every angle you may be suprised at how much more you can see.

If you feel you need it, Delta sells tinted resin meant for repairs in the shaded area.
