Another Suggestion for Marketing
Coister method is the best but here is a couple more!
I know some people like business cards and some do not but I have been putting my card in suggestion boxes at restaurants and I have been getting calls from that. I also leave a card when I leave a tip at a restaurant and this too has been working.

Speaking of ideas,
I seen a post awhile back about putting large FREE WINDSHIELD REPAIR signs out all over, well I did it I just ordered 100 signs yesterday Call me crazy but what the hell I'm always open to new idea's will try anything once. Hope I don't get a littering ticket I know of a guy that does another type of business he does 100 signs a month gets a call once in a while to remove them never really gets in any trouble lets hope it's the same for me. If I need to be bailed out of Jail I hope someone from this forum will be there to acecpt the collect call. As soon as I get them I will take a picture and post it so you can see what they look like. I will let you know how it goes should know in a month or so.

My Delta Kit came with one "Get Out of Jail Free" card (and some candy;)

Business cards can be a "double-edged sword." There are some that have the philosophy that if they can't make the sale/close the deal, providing a business card just allows the prospect to procrastinate/forget the deal.

Personally, I carry business cards (for both of my businesses) and chipsavers imprinted with my phone number. I do drop my cards in the fishbowls at my favorite eateries and have actually won a few free meals:)

The signs a corrugated plastic silk-screened 19X24 there just like all the election signs you see. They cost me $3.10 each I look at them as disposable signs if they last a week great a month fantastic.

I will be putting them anywhere I think they will be seen and last for some time before being removed by landscapers or city workers.

They read FREE WINDSHIELD REPAIR WITH PHONE NUMBER, FREE MOBILE SERVICE WE COME TO YOU!! (Small lettering call for details)

I stopped for lunch today at a little resteraunt and on the way in I saw a Sportage with a chip. Sat down ordered and asked who's Kia it was. That's it! JUST ASK FOR THE BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I paid 8 bucks for lunch including tip and made $90.00 before I left. I also have an appointment for 2 more cash jobs at $40 each at the same resteraunt for next wednesday.

Doesn't matter where you are, If you don't ask for the business you ain't gonna get da bidness!

Sounds simple doesn't it? I have fired 50 so called sales people over the past 17 years because for some reason they could not ask a client this simple ? "What do I need to do to go ahead and get this done for you TODAY!"

Start asking for the repair no matter where you are and I absolutely gaurantee you will make more money.

I couldn't agree with you more. I also have hired plenty of sales people for this business in the past and it gets very frustrating. For some reason some people think that if you ask for business that people are going to bite you or something. I just don't understand. I guess when someone is working for someone and not for themselves they just don't have the motivation to do anything. They think it is my job to take care of them instead of their job to take care of themselves.

I have also learned to just ask for business. Evertime I go into my bank, or I am in line at the super market, or I am at starbucks getting hot cocco I always ask the person if they have a chip in their windshield. A lot of people do and I fix their chips, sometimes even if they don't they have a family member who does or a friend who does. They wind up giving me their phone number so just ask people. They don't bite and all they can say is no. Wait :::checks self for holes::: nope still in tact. Just ask for business.

People ask a lot of questions as to how to MARKET this business using signs and tents and advertising and free dinners and rebates and kickbacks and gimmicks and business cards and ad infinitum.

You said it all and I've said it before.

Look for the repairs and ask to do the job.

Reminds me of the two guys sitting in a bar one night and dicussing their personal lives.

One as ugly as Karl Malden including the nose-wart, the other a chiseled Robert Redford lookalike.

And, Redford asking why Malden scores ten times better in spite of looking like a toad before a princess kiss.

Malden telling Redford whenever he spots a beautiful woman he walks up and asks her to go back to his apartment for a tete a tete.

Redford commenting that Malden must get slapped in the face a lot.

Malden replying it's worth an occasional slap when you consider my percentage of success compared to your's.
