New to the wsr field. Help!!
Hello all,
Im new and still in the stages of research. I have narrowed the field down to a couple of companies (Delt being one of them). Has anyone heard of "Fas-Break"?? I've been on and off the phone with them this past week and all info sounds good but just not for sure. How is Delta as far as equipment and training and prices?? I really want to do this but don't just want to give my money just to anybody and be left out to hang and dry. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thank you.

New to the wsr field. Help!!
Hey down, I have been using delta for my entire WSR career( since july 02) I like their gear, service, Worth the $ In my opinion!! Get the training and read the entire forum. Use the search feature to cover topics and be enlightened!!! My repairs have improved as a result. I get more done because of the info I've gleaned and if you have a problem just ask these are a great bunch of folks. If you get a chance hook up with a experianced repairman and you will learn something know matter what their skill level. Good luck and, [/b]Practice Practice Practice!!!!

My best mentor one said " be fair with your priceing but never too low, be honest with your customer/competition, when the day is done be sure you have done "good works", and always leave something of value on the barganing table!!

I looked at a lot of companies before I bought a Delta Kit. If you want a quality kit that is well worth the money..then buy Delta Kits. Call and speak with Jeff and you will learn what ustomer service is supposed to be like. If you get a chance to attend a Delta Training Class I would strongly recommend it. Read this forum and learn from a wide variety of knowlege from here in the US and from other countries. Best of luck to you and if you have any questions feel free to pm me anytime.
If you are serious about getting in to the windshield repair business cannot believe in everything you read and hear from the companies they are trying to sell their system. This is one of those things that puzzled me. If it takes between 30 to 40 minutes to do any repair how can you do 40 In A Day. If I can do, 40 repair in a Day and charge $35 per repair. While I would be making $1400 a Day and $7000 a week and 28,000 in one month. I could live like a King on 336,000 a year. I brain this up because I did not do my homework completely before buying my system. I wish I would have known about delta form before I bought my kit. So please check into it before you buy your kit. I cannot tell you what system to buy I can tell you want equipment that I use now. I feel like the Delta system is the one of the best systems.
Listen to the wise, (not me the experienced fellas) go with Delta. I too just started, and received my kit last week. Quality is what I wanted, and quality is what I received. I researched this biz for close to a year, saved my money and got the best.
Go for it, you won't regret it.
Good luck in your decision.

Not to be argumentitive pat but 30to40 minutes?what system are you using that takes that long on a break? I have a delta injector a couple liquid resins, a windshield doctor and a express injector. all take half that long.
also Ive been on alot of sites and dont remember anyone making to 40 repair a day claim to sell thier system. Have I done 40 in a day sure on fleet busses with a helper and several injectors going at a time but lets be fair with the guy he's asking for advice mine is simple Liquid Resins is nice so is Delta personaly i would build my own kit with varios separate pieces bought from a couple different suppliers rather than buying a kit from someone but thats just me and sure I bought a kit when I started out and still havnt used some of the lame stuff they put in it. I find the LR injector is easier on verticle glass and the delta works better for everyday use, the WD I wouldnt sujest to anyone its shaky and always seem to fall off the glass. both Delta and Liquid resins work wiht ACT which I use because its convenient although you pay a premium for using it.
What would I buy if I was starting out today and know what I know now?
1. LR injector
1. Delta injector
1. plastic tool box from home depot
1. extension cord home depot
1. that cool drill delta sells and some bits
1. UV light 12v
1. UV light 120v
1 oz pit resin
2oz quality resin ive used both Deltas and LR's liked em both
2oz thin/crack resin same brands as above
1.package of cure tabs i like them thin (same way I like women)
1. short step stool from wally mart
1. standard blow dryer
a metal pick a couple syriges a can of glass cleaner and some single edged razor blades and yur workin and spent a bout $400
And then i would find someone like coit to follow around for a couple days learning not only how to do the repair but sell it as well. 8)
I have bought alot of my stuff used from the net the most common reason they are selling is that although anyone can learn to use it they never learned to sell themselves you can buy all the tapes and take all the classes to learn how to do a repair but if you dont learn how to sell the product and yourself then it was all a waste of your time and money.

It takes me 30 to 40 minutes to do my repair. I count the time it takes me to talk to the customer called the the insurance and do my repair and paperwork. All this is a part of the repair. It would be a perfect world if I had 40 customer's at my door. Where I did not have to go looking for my customer's

I guess if you count the sales presentation and finding the customer 30 - 40 minutes makes sense myself I call act hand the phone to the customer and start the repair have never had a customer talk to them for more than 15min and usualy by the time they are off the phone im done. I realize the ACT waycosts more but it sure makes it easy and the minute im done for the day I dont think about work or do any paperwork when I get home. I average 4-5 customers a day and work about 4 hrs a day 4 -5 days a week after paying Act I average $50 per repair 4 a day x5 days thats $1000 per week with a 20 hr work week. of course some week I work more but dont like to.

Well what puzzled me was the company was staying that their technician was doing 40 repairs between 8 and 10 hours if so I would like to know where they are gathering their customers. I guess

I could get 40 customers in one day if I went to Wally world with my center punch and make my own customers. Well I had better not do that because I could not live with myself if I did this and more likely, with my luck I would go to jail. I guess I was just trying to say that this business is not a get rich business you have to learn the knowledge of it all.
