I had the opportunity to ride along with Chris aka MAFSU on thursday. I just wanted to say thanks and also let you know that the technique you showed me regarding prefilling the break before placing the injector over it is working really well for me. I did 7 jobs today and used that on every one of them. All of them looked better than anything I have done up to this point.

prep the opening however you usually would. The typical some you drill most you don't routine. take your probe, place a drop or so of resin over the opening and aply pressure with the probe into the opening of the break. You will see the resin flow into the chip almost as if it's under pressure. get the chip filled as good as you can and then swing the injectoe over the chip and put it into the pressure cycle. after that work it as you would any other chip. In all 7 I did using this today, every one of them had absolutely no, and i mean none, air trapped inside them when I was done. I wisj I had a web cam I'd give you a demonstration. Maybe I'll get one this weekened and I can conduct virtual training :D . You know that's seriously not a bad idea! I'll look into this a bit further.

Hope that helped a bit

Hey Sean, you're welcome. I'm glad I was able to show you something that would help. You're repairs were looking very good to start with. I got a chance to use Sean Delta bridge yesterday. I have used one before , but the person who had it wasn't able to explain to me how to use it(he had just bought it). I was really impressed by the amount of vaccuum and pressure that could be applied with the injector. Soon as I have the money to spare I'm gonna buy a couple injectors from Delta. I was also impressed with Sean, he is really dedicated to performing the best repairs possible. Sean you should post some pictures of your ride, I know it's not finished but the graphics look reaaly nice.

Sean
thanks for the advice. I am going to try that method tomorrow. Do you think it works as it lubricates the break before it is compressed with the injector? :D . Cheers Sean.

My best guess is that when you use the probe to open up the pit without the injector over it, you give the resin a much wider path to flow through. Once you place the injector over the pre-filled pit the pressure cycle doesn't have to work as hard to fill the pit and seems to work more at getting the air out and forcing the resin into the last little pockets and tips of the legs.

This is my speculation at best. All I know is that it worked great for me!

Sean did a good job of explaining the procedure. I just wanted to add that any of you guys who are popping bullseyes on stars should place a drop of resin in the pit before popping. The bullseye will suck up the resin as you pop it. then all you have to do is use the bridge to get the resin to the ends of the legs.

MASFU. Glad you are getting good responses from that tip. I got my head bit off when I suggested the same thing except placing probe through the injector , remember that about 4-6 weeks ago?
You were the only one who knew what I was talking about.
