Advertising with Yellowpages online - yp.com

Post by Vikingfann »

I entered into an agreement with yellowpages - yp.com to improve my listing location when someone searched windshield repair in my community using yellowpages or yp.com. Prior to start I was about 24th on the list. Most companies on the list didn't really exist in my community or didn't actually service my community. After about 2 weeks I saw a change - I was now 26th. I contacted yp.com and they suggested a couple of things to improve my listing including adding a picture which I did. Checking a couple of weeks ago, I had dropped to 28th. Last week I dropped to 30th and was now on the 2nd page. Today I'm up to 29th (woo hoo). Contacting these people is tough. No one answers their phone and messages do not get a response. Buyer beware!

I don't do YP because its expensive and no longer the source that people go to. Our society is now mobile. They Google / Bing Windshield Repair. Put your money where it will do the most good. I attended a media class at the local college, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. Newspapers are also on the way out according to the speakers.

I do a big presence online but still do yellow pages also, even the book. The "older folks" still use it and I get alot of calls from people using the yellow pages. My business card size ad is about $50 a month but brings me probably 10-15 jobs a month. Still well worth it, but online and word of mouth tend to bring a little more. When I say even the book, I'm assuming OP was talking about yellowpages.com, not the book.
