New guy here with some questions

Hi. I'm gonna be new to wsr and wanted to introduce myself. I've been looking at the various kits and I'm not sure what I need. I've seen some with a hand vac and some without...what's the diff and which one is better? I plan on using this in addition to my future auto repair shop. Figured it would be good start since I have 3 chips of my own. AND, I can work in my spare time. I just need to break down and invest in a kit. I'd like to do the training so that I fully undetstand the whole process(i.e. drilling, technique) but that's outta my budget.

Anyway, great forum, I've read some pretty good stories....hopefully I'll be a success as most of you seem to be.

Welcome to the forum George I myself have a Delta kit and am pleased with the results I get. You are in the right place to learn about this trade. Everything I got in my basic kit I use regularly and is probably the minimum of what you'll need. I recommend training it helped me alot. Before you put out the money do a little investigating, theres alot of hype out there. Read all the posts (5000+) and you'll have a masters degree in WSR Good Luck Bob

Welcome to the forum. I live in Weatherford it's not to far away for you to come and visit me and take a look at the Delta Kit and glass mechanic equipment I have both of them. My favorite is the Delta system. Thanks for the warm welcome. I've been reading the posts like a mutha...talk about information overload. Can someone tell me the difference with using a hand vac pump and the injector? It almost seems like the hand vac was an old method because all the new name brand kits don't use it. I'd like to take you up on that offer pat. Can't do it during lunch though cause I work in Irving. How about one evening or on the weekend?

Welcome George, I have only used Delta's equipment. I am happy with the results and the user friendly system Delta has designed. The hand pump you described is a form of injector that you have to rig and apply pressure via the hand pump. My opinion, cumbersome, you have to get used to what ever equipment you buy and the vac system I am sure has advantages. I have been retailing WSR for a short while and no complaints with my repairs or equipment. Before I purchased my gear I did a ton of research. I finally settled on Delta and am happy I did I still would like to have the opportunity to use other gear for the purpose of experience but I am very happy with my current equipment!
